I hate to break it to 99% of people on this site, but demonising vegans and our movement by derailing conversations about animal rights and the meat industry purely to tokenize indigenous, poor, poc, disabled people or something about fruit bats and agave doesn’t make you ‘woke’ or progressive.

“can’t afford to go vegan” is more than just the monetary cost. it’s the time it takes to prepare tasty meals. you have to wash, peel, cook, buy seasonings, etc. for poor people working triple shifts it will always always always be easier to swing through mcdonald’s and buy a $1 burger than spend $15 on all the ingredients and then spend time preparing it. also, homeless people, disabled people, single parents or income homes, anyone who’s not a rich white girl with a job that gives her pto.

any of the poor vegans out there want to give this ignorant person a shout out?
