Hey Alex, I know how you feel.

I was feeling pretty okay to be honest — I had a good few days with my family over the festive period and I was happy. But then the black cloud descends — out of nowhere. As quickly as the weather changes; as quickly as your tea gets cold when you’re not paying attention. And, just like that, I feel very low in myself.

I feel very fucking low, actually. For no particular reason, it just happens.

It’s okay, I’ve been dealing with it most of my life. I’ve tried a million things to kick it — positive thinking, sleeping for days on end, drugs, yoga, more drugs, sex, crying, drugs, juice cleanses, bla bla bla… but It seems to decide when it’s time for It to go.

Now I don’t try and fight It, or suffocate It — just like my freckles, my frizzy hair, or my crooked teeth, I accept It as a part of me. I embrace It.
