Sorry, I should have specified- non Islamic head coverings? I keep seeing people posting about how some Christians and Jewish people still cover their heads, but I don't know anything about it. (Those links were super interesting, though!)

As for Christian individuals, I had always thought it was just little old ladies just wanting to cover their heads.

A lot of times it’s a cultural thing, but in some cultures where women would not necessarily wear a head-covering in their everyday lives, they still cover their heads in church.
