Thinking about Kevin with a mommy kink.
I think itâd work as a psychological dynamic, provided that itâs treated as part of Kevinâs emotional dysfunction rather than something to idealize.
It doesn't have to be a literal mommy kink, but a form of maternal transferenceâlike Kevin unconsciously trying to recreate the relationship with Eva, but in a way where he finally has some control over it, as we know that Kevin likes to be in control (I think for it to happen in the first place, youâd initially take on a somewhat nurturing role).
I think Kevin would maybe gravitate towards someone who has patience and is quietly nurturing, or takes care of practical things (ensuring he eats and sleeps properly, or tending to an injury), to even love and belonging needs (friendship, quality time, acceptance). Heâd find the latter overbearing, but with an important nuance. He doesnât simply dislike being cared for. Rather, he seems to distrust it and the vulnerability it creates, because we know that Kevin wants to be in control; he doesnât like the idea of having to rely on something. Heâd definitely react strongly to ordinary acts of care like these since heâs not used to receiving them consistently. If he ever wanted reassurance at some point, heâd mock or reject it while simultaneously seeking it out. He might even deliberately push you away to see if youâd stay, recreating the instability he experienced with his mother.
The unhealthy aspect is that Kevin wouldn't see you as an equal. Youâd become the stand-in for an unmet emotional need. It would likely create a relationship where heâd expect unconditional acceptance, constantly test your loyalty, alternate between clinging and emotional distance, and feel resentment (simply because youâd have power over him, being able to comfort or reject him so easily).
Another interesting thing is that Kevin craves control, so being emotionally dependent on someone could make him feel exposed, which would lead him to undermine the relationship or manipulate the other person so he doesnât feel like the vulnerable one. So instead of him literally calling you âmomâ, or âmommyâ by making it overtly roleplay-ish, itâd probably be much subtler. Like allowing you to tend to a cut or wound and being unusually calm, resting his head on your shoulder without admitting he wants comfort, and expecting you to âjust knowâ what he needs because he never learned to ask.
If I'm being realistic, the tragedy is that no partner could actually fill the role he's unconsciously asking them to fill. Youâre attempting to be a romantic partner while he's partially looking for the emotional security he never had as a child and simultaneously seeking control. So if Kevin were to mix with a maternal partner, the relationship would probably be deeply codependent and unhealthy simply because of the mismatch (regardless of whether both people genuinely cared about each other).
