When Sora had returned back to Destiny Islands after the war, he had been met with a sense of restlessness. Adjusting to normal life was hard, harder than he expected. Especially when he suspected or believed there was still more to see that out there. And it would be nice to venture out without threats looming over his head from the Organization, Heartless, or the Unversed, or any other manner of enemies. For once in his life, he was truly free and the world felt wider than ever. How could he stay home when there was so much to see out there? Maybe it was that thought, and the thirst to explore that had him back in the Gummi Ship and out traveling just after a few days of being home. Maybe he’d come across a new world that he hadn’t been to before, there had to be more out there than what he’d already seen. He didn’t want to revisit the same old worlds he’d been to so he found himself steering away from them, when a new world did come up on the radar, and he knew it was one he’d never been to before. He checked for further information on the world, seeing that it was called Midgar. Now that was pretty interesting, so Sora landed without hesitation, seeing that he had landed near a cliff overlooking what seemed to be some kind of city. Well, it was better than landing in the city and attracting a whole load of unwanted attention, he knew better than that as he exited his ship and walked over to the edge of the cliff to get a better look at his surroundings, even going so far as to notice the massive sword stuck in the ground. That was pretty strange, but Sora figured there was a reason for that and didn’t touch the sword. It all seemed so vast, just waiting to be explored and he was pretty sure that there wouldn’t be any trouble here either, but then again Sora had a penchant for trouble either following him or finding him but he just put that down to being a Keyblade Wielder.
He’d been lost in his own thoughts before realizing that he wasn’t exactly alone here anymore, having caught movement out of the corner of his eye. His curiosity having got the better of him, turning to see who or what it was, feeling somewhat on guard due to his past experiences but he hadn’t been expecting who he saw. And it was enough to make his heart sink slightly, because he’d seen someone similar to this person before, in Hollow Bastion, had even fought him and had only gotten away unscathed because of his skill as a fighter and Cloud, who had intervened. But this….this was insane. That silver hair was like a blast from the past for Sora, and his mind was struggling to comprehend how this was possible. Were there others out there who looked like Sephiroth? Or was this Sephiroth in another form, but that couldn’t be could it? Sora’s mind was struggling to understand this and the more he stared, the more his thoughts seemed to race. Maybe he should just say something, and see what this person had to say for themselves. It would probably open a can of worms, but it was better than being trapped in his own thoughts.
“Uh…excuse me, sorry. You just look like someone I’ve seen before, you’re not….connected to him in any way are you?” By him, he meant Sephiroth. And just like that, mentioning his name alone was enough to send a shiver down Sora’s spine.
on the outskirts of midgar, yazoo sat patiently awaiting the orders of kadaj—who seemed to know much more than yazoo did about gaia and their purpose for being. a strange young man appeared, though yazoo felt no need to approach nor speak to him, he wasn’t apart of his mission after all. though his appearance seemed to be quite troublesome. who was this? the question lingered briefly before yazoo let it escape into the wind. a fleeting moment passed before the unfamiliar voice found his ears,
❝ hmm ? ❞ he tilted his head as his eyes found the young man, ❝ him ? ❞ yazoo began to rack his brain for a name… a man’s name—one that resembles himself?? ❝ oh… have you met my brothers perhaps?… ❞ his words are slow, they drag when he speaks, and his eyes never leave sora. yazoo couldn’t fathom what the stranger wanted from him, but he would entertain him for now.
