I’ve had quite a few ideas about this since the karaoke drawing, and thanks to @ven1segt 's drawing, I’ve come up with many more.
I can say that I have ideas for Bennett’s part, and personally, his story reminded me of Jack Stauber, a singer whose some of his songs I really like—and that’s how this AU began
Bennett, as a borrower, started releasing music as a way to let off steam thanks to an old phone he found lying around while delivering mail. With the triplets’ help, he learned how to use it. He didn’t expect to receive so much support from humans interested in his music—the sound of his voice, despite the strange lyrics and quirky instruments.

The weight of fame became too much for him because it had started as a hobby, so he decided to disappear from social media for good. He knew that uploading music had been a risky move, so he just threw away his phone and vanished.
Although he didn’t want to walk away from that world completely, he ended up living with a musician: Trevor.
Trevor had just started creating music again with his own lyrics and a vibe different from Bennett’s. Bennett, intrigued, became friends with Trevor—it happened more or less as in the canon—and they even sang together on occasion.
Until one day Trevor posted a vocal practice session with Bennett, and fans of both of them came together thanks to those “anonymous collaborations” by Bennett, which led to quite a few theories about it.
In that timeline, Bennett wouldn’t know about the existence of that video, and Trevor wouldn’t know how to tell him—which is the turning point in that universe.
(Okay, I’ve talked too much; I’ve thought too much about this AU.)
