âNew player?â Adam asked, his eyebrows quickly shooting down in confusion. Though, that wasnât the only part that had triggered his obfuscation. There had also been something about having a rather entertaining week. Were Adam and Katherine still on the same page? If so, Adam was seeing a side of the brunette he hadnât seen before. There was nothing entertaining about what Adam had seen in the past couple of days. âI- uh. My mother showed up. Which I guess isnât really that weird, but she died of cancer a couple of months ago, so uh-. I probably just imagined the whole thing, but it was still⊠scary.â Adam admitted, this was the first time he had told anyone in this town about his mother.
âYou havenât heard? Probably will soon.â Katherine simply shrugged in a nonchalant fashion. While Katherine hadnât seen anyone she cared about, she did remember that dream reality in which Nadia had been alive. Sheâd been a mother there, sheâd never had to give her baby girl up in that reality and Katherine remembered searching for her daughter after it was all over. It had felt real, but it was evident that it had all been a lie. This was something similar, she figured. Different, but still with similar aspects. âYouâll grow used to stuff like that eventually. Nothingâs too bizarre or impossible for this town. Everything happens around here.â

Bonnie tensed under Elenaâs touch, but then she was actually feeling her best friendâs warm palm brushing over her cheek, and she felt herself relax instantly. âYou donât remember anything after the darkness?â she asked her gently. It was hard not to be skeptical, given everything that she had been a witness to in the pastâincluding a certain evil bitch in the form of Elenaâs doppleganger impersonating her. Bonnie reached for the other womanâs hand, lacing their fingers together as she offered her a lopsided smile before turning towards the direction of The Mystic Grill. âGoody. We have a lot of catching up to doâand itâs amazing to be seeing you again, too, you know. Iâve really missed you.â
âIt was like there was nothing after that.â Katherine shook her head, doe eyes remaining on the witch before her. She couldnât help but wonder what Bonnie wanted to catch up on with Elena and she was all for going to the Grill with her so she could find out what those things were. Maybe she could have some more fun with that, who knew? Katherine smiled sweetly, nodding her head at Bonnieâs comment and gently pulling her along. âIâve missed you too. All of you. I feel like Iâve missed out on a ton of stuff, so tell me everything. I want to know what youâve been up to and if the guys in this town have stopped being blind yet because if you tell me youâre not dating anyone, I wonât believe you.â
How does it feel knowing no one will ever love you?
How does it feel knowing you will never be as fabulous as me?

Liam had learned quite a bit over the past week, the events having shaken him up a bit. He had tried to assist in the research Malia requested him to, a stranger that he had bumped in to only once before that, but he had followed along nonetheless. As well as that, he had met a kind soul named Allison, who had led him to a safer space. As well as gotten attacked and had to run from a blonde man who had attacked him, who he had yet to discover the name of. He would eventually figure out the identity of the man, Seth Adler. He had gotten trapped in a dorm room with his friend Davina, where they both discovered they didnât know each other as well as they initially thought, and he was still hopeful the events hadnât affected their friendship.
At that moment, however, the young college student was seated on a park bench, wearing jeans and a maroon t-shirt, arms crossed over his chest. It was most likely a stupid idea to be out at this time, almost 3 in the morning, with a full moon looming the next evening. Liam just had a lot on his mind, and figured a walk would clear his head, settling on a bench when he needed a break. He was so lost in thought that he didnât take notice of the appearance of another, his head finally turning as the sound of footsteps close by got to him, the stranger surely curious why he was out alone at this hour.
Head turning, the young man peered up at the stranger, eyes narrowed to catch sight of them through the shadows the large trees around were casting, body rigid. âUh, hi,â he greeted back to their initiation of conversation, curious why they would approach a stranger out in the middle of the night. Then again, why was he interacting back? âNice night for a walk, huh,â he mused aloud, head turning to face forward, even as he kept a sidelong gaze on the figure.
It was always better to go out when it was dark to feed. During nighttime, it drew less attention to people and on top of that, Katherine enjoyed going out to have a couple of drinks at night too. Daytime wasnât all that special most of the time anyway, so here she was, just exiting Mystic Grill and trying to decide where she wanted to go next. Despite it being three in the morning, the vampire wasnât ready to go home quite yet, so she needed to figure out what she wanted to do. Maybe a walk through the park would spark something. There were always people around in Mystic Falls either way, no matter where you went. She expected to bump into some poor and ignorant soul sooner or later and it didnât take long for her to spot someone sitting on a bench in the dark. He looked kind of young though, but that didnât bother her. In fact, the younger they were, the more ignorant they tended to be. She could hear his beating heart, but she also sensed that he was a werewolf, not sure if heâd triggered his curse yet or not. Making her way over, the vampire stopped in front of the young man, staring down at him with a firm smirk plastered around her lips. âLittle bit passed your bedtime, isnât it?âÂ

She couldnât believe her eyes. Surely, somehow, it was all a trick of the mind. Maybe sheâd somehow strengthened her powers by using them at the school, maybe even unlocked some part of herself and the thought was alarming. Seeing dead people was not a power she wanted, and she blinked hard at Elena. ââIâ you canât be real. You died.ââ Lydia pointed out logically, shaking her head, but she couldnât help the way hope filled her heart and her eyes watered a little. Oh, how she wanted it to be completely real. Then maybe the guilt would go away, and she could breathe a little bit easier.Â
Despite her protests, she went willing to Elena, wrapping her arms around her in a tight hug and feeling that she was solid. She wasnât a ghost. ââHow⊠how are you here? What is going on?ââ
âThatâs over. Iâm back now.â she mumbled, her hand moving over the other girlâs back in a gesture of comfort. She had to show major restraint whenever she was around Elenaâs little group of friends because it meant that she couldnât be who she was, she couldnât be herself and Katherine had always enjoyed being herself. Oh, well. This was worth it, wasnât it? Getting to see their reactions? âI donât know how it happened. I just woke up after everything was black for years. Iâm just as confused about all of this as you are, trust me.â
adamgilbert:
âTell me about it.â Adam agreed with a little sigh, cringing under the glares the girl was still sending his way. Though, seeing a familiar did untie the knot that had formed into his chest a little. A friend - if he could even call the brunette that - was exactly what he needed to keep himself distracted from his mother and the painful words that kept bouncing around in his head. âMore like a bad week, actually.â Adam admitted, with a soft smile. âHow about you? Nothing strange happened to you this past week, I hope.â
âStrange, no. But I did have quite some entertainment this past week. It was great. And with this new player in town, Iâm guessing thatâs only gonna become more entertaining.â Katherine admitted, slowly pushing herself off the tree and smoothing down the fabric of her clothes. She waved the girl that Adam had just hit off as she made her way over, wondering what strange things had happened to him. She assumed that had been the case - why else would he bring it up? âSo what strange things have happened to you this past week then, mmh?â

Elenaâs death was something that would always haunt Lydia. She felt guilty that sheâd never been able to save her. The feelings, the premonitions sheâd had, theyâd come too late and sheâd been left crying with the rest of her friends at the funeral. As well as grief, theyâd been intense guilt and sheâd carried it with her ever since the accident. It was the fuel that fired her need to learn about her banshee powers, to try and harness them. She had done so at the school, finally managing to trigger them and learn a little more. The voices in her head werenât a punishment, they were her guide and she knew now to listen to them, if nothing else. Her thoughts swirled as she walked, on a break from work, stopping when a figure bumped her shoulder and she went to speak but instead, she was silenced.Â
Elena.
Her mouth fell open and she blinked hard, doing a total double take. ââElena, whatâââ She spoke quickly, then immediately shook her head, reaching up to rub at her eyes. ââNo, no, Iâm going crazy, arenât I? Youâre not real. Youâre dead.ââÂ
âYou think Iâm not real?â Katherine questioned, an incredulous stare being sent into the redheadâs direction. It made sense that Lydia thought this, but Katherine didnât mind convincing her of something else. Sheâd just have to work her magic so that the banshee would believe her and think that Elena really was alive again. Sheâd studied Elena for so long that she basically knew everything about her that there was to know by now. Sheâd imitated the girl so many times by now too that she could effortlessly flip that switch whenever she felt like it. Elena was kind and sweet to people, especially to her friends, but Katherine was the complete opposite. So all she had to do was to pretend she was someone that she really wasnât, someone completely different. âOh, Lydia. Come here.â
twitchywitchybonnie:
Finally letting Elena go, she bent over at her waist, setting the satchels down on the ground as her palms moved up to cup her forehead. âSeeing you is like seeing a ghostâand Iâve seen plenty of those,â she explained to her should-be dead best friend in an exasperated tone. âYou donât remember anything about how you wound up back in Mystic Falls? Alive?â Bonnie had seen countless supernatural occurrences since her own magical awakening. She had watched everybody around her die and come back as vampires or werewolves, and then there had been spectacular occurrences like with Jeremy. The sound of his neck breaking still echoed in her memory. The pain that she had felt in the instant his lifeless body had crumbled at her feet had been enough to rip apart her soul, but he, too, was alive and well. Somewhereâor this is what she hoped. âDo you want to grab a bite to eat?â she blurted out, sucking in her lower lip as she scooped her satchels up. âI, for one, am famished.â
âItâs like my memoryâs been wiped. I died and everything went black. And then I woke up and light hit my eyes... I donât remember anything from after it all went black.â Katherine explained, assuming that this was how Elena would describe things, how sheâd say all of this. âIâm so glad Iâm back. Itâs amazing to see you again, Bon.â the brunette had to muster up her sweetest smile, gently brushing her palm over the witchâs cheek. Deep down, this was the most cringe worthy thing ever, but she had to play the part if she wanted to be believable. âAre you kidding? Iâm starving. I havenât eaten in years. Literally.â
Getting to mess with Elenaâs friends was hilarious if she was honest. Sheâd done it with Allison in the past, with Caroline and also with Bonnie. Today, another friend of hers was up - Lydia. Katherine knew who the redhead was, but she hadnât yet had the pleasure of meeting the girl. Today was her chance though and she honestly couldnât wait to see the look on Lydiaâs face when sheâd see her dead friend. The brunette wanted to go about this differently, so she pretended to be rather distressed, as if she was lost and not in her right frame of mind, which prompted her shoulder to bump into Lydiaâs as she passed her by. âOh, my god. Iâm so sorry--â Katherine began, turning around after another moment and facing Lydia. She stopped dead in her tracks next, that look of distress increasing as her hazel eyes fell in line with the other womanâs. âLydia?â

twitchywitchybonnie:
Bonnie had spent the past two hours inside The Magic Box. It was hard to explain, but she felt at home in there. The energy was different versus when she stepped outside, and she didnât feel connected anymore. Not that she did anymore, anyway. It could be because of what Damon had done. Her magic hadnât been enough. She hadnât been enough, and now she had some kind of mental block that was effecting her ability to cast circles or do even the simplest spell work. She was stuck, and she needed to figure out a way to take back control of her magic before Damon came after her again, because she knew he would. He was relentless, manipulative and persistent. It was only a matter of time now. Hearing a voice, an all too familiar one, one that she would know anywhere, Bonnie swore that she was seeing a ghost. It wouldnât be the first time. âElena?â She could hardly stay composed as she rushed towards the brunette, even with her hands full of brown paper satchels, wrapping her up tightly in a hug that she didnât think would ever be possible again. Her best friend had died. Bonnie had grieved her and buried her, along with Caroline. Seeing her standing here, alive and well, she couldnât help it as she cried. âBut how? How are you even talking to me right now?â she questioned her, breathing in noisily through her nose as she pulled back slightly but didnât let Elena go with her hands gripping just below her elbows as best as she could.
Sheâd expected that kind of reaction. Everyone thought that Elena Gilbert was dead - and she was. But Katherine enjoyed imitating the girl way too much, using it to keep herself entertained and well, it was fun to mess with peopleâs lives. She wasnât attached to anyone in this stupid town anyway, so why wouldnât she misbehave? Katherine had never been one to play by the rules - she made her own. The last time sheâd played by the rules had probably been when she was still human, five centuries ago. That was when her family had still been alive, when she still had people to care about and love. But that time had long since passed and the only one she cared about these days was herself. She didnât let herself get attached to anyone because it was a waste of her valuable time. Instead, she opted for messing with peopleâs lives to keep things interesting. She wasnât beyond murder or manipulation. Nothing was too crazy for her and hell, sheâd even buried Caroline alive, which only proved that Katherine really had no boundaries. If someone got in her way, sheâd find some creative and gratifying way to deal with it. The witchâs arms moved around her small frame and she could tell that Bonnie was crying because she was happy to see Elena again. This is so disgusting. Katherine had to push her way through those feelings of pure disgust, her own arms slowly making their way around Bonnie in return, actually happy when the other girl pulled back because it created more distance between the two. âI-- I donât really know.â she shook her head, pretending to be shaken up by her so called resurrection. She figured Elena would be feeling that way if she came back to life, so she had to play the part. âI just... I was dead one day and now Iâm here. I donât know how or why.â
Bonnie Bennett. She was one of Elenaâs best friends, which Katherine knew. Just like how she knew the other people who had been friends with her annoying doppelganger. And now, the brunette spotted the witch nearby and she immediately felt like messing with Bonnie the way that sheâd done with some of Elenaâs other friends. The vampire smoothed out the fabric of her clothes, moving her fingers through her hair to make her curls less obvious, trying to go for a more straight hairdo. Bonnie was apparently exiting the local magic shop, which made sense because she was a witch and well, witches tended to go to that place for supplies and whatnot. Katherine herself never really went inside and only moved passed the exterior when needed. Switching to Elenaâs personality and appearance wasnât all that hard for her to do, so she was preparing for that right before walking up to Bonnie with big, doe eyes. Of course, Katherine effortlessly feigned a flustered expression, but one that also conveyed that she was kind of surprised. She knew that Elenaâs friends would have questions about how she was resurrected and she needed to pretend not to know how she was alive again. This is disgusting. âBonnie? Oh, my god!â

With two fingers pressed against the artery in his neck, Adam slowed his pace. Catching up with his breath as he tried to keep up with his beating heart. It was beating faster than usual and it didnât take Adam long to figure out why. Everywhere he turned, he feared to see his mother again - bald and boney due to all the chemotherapy she had had to endure during the last few months of her life. Following the path that would lead him out of the park, Adam started taking off his sweater. The physical effort and burning sun having overheated his body. But upon swinging the sweater over his shoulder, Adam heard another voice crying out in pain, apparantly he had flung the zipper right in their face.Â
âIâm so sorry! Are you alright?â
âWell, that looked painful.â Katherine had seen Adam moving through the park as the zipper of his sweater smacked the person walking behind him right in the face. The vampire was leaning against one of the trees because sheâd just had a delicious, fresh and warm lunch and now she was here, trying to see if there was anything entertaining for her to do. And now that Adam was in sight, she didnât see why she couldnât use him as a form of entertainment. It had been pretty fun with him before, when theyâd gone swimming. Sheâd almost felt normal, probably because he was human, but that didnât mean she was on her way to becoming a good person or anything - that was never gonna happen. âBad day, Adam?â
