APOLLO (?)
I've seen this image around pinterest with the name of Apollo, and I think the statue is of striking beauty, but no further references are given about it (sculptor, time, culture, current location, etc.) and my research hasn't been quite fruitful.
Only thing I got to find was it tagged as "Copenhagen". Does anyone know something else of this particular piece, especially, is it really Apollo?
Thanks a lot in advance ✨️
Lately I've been trying to learn more about the aspects of Apollo that are not often discussed
I see so many seeing Him as only being associated with music and harmony and peace and light
But He is truly much more
Apollo is the light that drives out the darkness
His arrows are sharp and fierce, piercing the hearts of the wicked
He is the brilliant flame that burns evil down to ash
He is more than just gentle light and music and art
He is Alexikakos, the destroyer of evil
He is the Slayer of Python
Praise be to the Lord whose light pierces the darkness, like arrows flying through the air 🙏
T- Ah. What are you doing in the palace? To bring new injustice and erase the honours of the underworld?
A- Came here fair and just.
T- Just? What do you hold the bow then?
A- Out of habit.
T- Your laws are for the rich Phoibos.
A- Bah? You are wise and i didn't know it?
The brief argument of Thanatos with Apollo in Euripides's Alcestis is so hilarious.
Apollonian
Researched about Apollonian vs Dionysian, thought it was cool, so I draw :3
Reference article: https://www.thecollector.com/nietzsche-philosophy-apollonian-dionysian/
The Apollonian and the Dionysian are key terms in Nietzsche’s philosophy of aesthetics, referring to two opposing tensions within art.

I drew Apollo because the Wisdom Saga for Epic The Musical was released :]

WIP. Shining Apollon. This is based off of some artwork that I no longer can locate. Just a study.

Apollo and Artemis 🏹🌿✨
I really enjoyed to make this piece! I did the lineart traditionally and painted it digitally
This piece was based on an attic red-figure cup from the 4th century BCE
