I don't even bother hardly to orrect my typos anymore. It is just affirmation that these words were typed by the hands of human being and not extruded by a fucnking AI
one of my professors was like (paraphrasing) "AI makes you sound the same as everybody else. The idea of a single "correct" English is racist and flattens the diversity of people. I don't care about grammar outside of the writing being understandable. I want to hear YOUR voice, Your dialect the unique way you communicate."
I have been more appreciative of the rough edges of human communication since chatGPT came to be. The misspellings and turns of phrase that real people produce.
The inherently flawed nature of an alive thing vs. the empty perfection of something that never had life in it at all
I love vague labels that make people go "but that's confusing" or "but that could mean anything" Good. Keep guessing lol
"Queer doesn't actually tell me anything" who says I wanted to tell you anything. Who even are you.
has everyone seen the website that gives you a rothko for your local weather?
Honestly it does feel like it.
can't wait to say "during pride month?" at every minor inconvenience all of next month
Vietnam. Christian Vaisse
In Vietnam and across Southeast Asia, seahorses are traditionally used to support kidney health and related conditions.

The Last Interview (pdf download) (only 10 pages!)
Fiction
Giovanni's Room (pdf download)
If Beale Street Could Talk (pdf download)

My next Black History Month request:
Pick one of James Baldwin's works and read it!!! The Fire Next Time is an excellent essay, most of us are familiar with the quote on gay white people from The Last Interview but not the rest of it. If Beale Street Could Talk even has a movie!
The Departure (Thomas Cole, 1837)
Women stick thin and malnourished on the red carpet, and people are saying you can't point out that these women are dying because that's body shaming. Girl.
@whitenikes
the ideal media diet for a child is books and music from at least fifty years ago so they are always out of touch with the references and allusions of their peer group
“μηδ᾽ εἰς Ἑλένην κότον ἐκτρέψῃς, ὡς ἀνδρολέτειρ᾽, ὡς μία πολλῶν ἀνδρῶν ψυχὰς Δαναῶν ὀλέσασ᾽ ἀξύστατον ἄλγος ἔπραξεν. - And don’t twist your grudge upon Helen as a manslayer, as if only she, slaying the souls of many Danaan men, inflicted pain beyond mending.”
— Clytemnestra, in Aeschylus’ Agamemnon, 1464-7
'Cara Oranges and Coffee'. Adam Clague. 2022.
an extra special happy pride to anyone who is not out to their parents or their friends or other loved ones, to anyone who isn’t even out anywhere at all yet, online or off, and to anyone who is still questioning and figuring themselves out, who is still searching for the right words, or isn’t sure any fit. this month is for you too
It's almost pride month this pride you will care about trans men and mascs you will listen to trans men and mascs you will respect trans men and mascs. you will care about us not as guard dogs or sex objects or rhetorical devices. You will support us because we desperately need people standing behind us as our rights are further erroded. You will unlearn transandrophobia and anti-transmasculinity and misogyny and bioessentialism and gender essentialism. You will be aware of transmasculine erasure and actively work to combat it. You will center us in trans and feminist discussions.
And if you can't then you get left behind. We don't want or need you.
you can't say "stop making everything about men" about a group of marginalised people who have been historically erased and never centered in any conversations that affect them. that is erasure. you are perpetuating the system that leads to these people being trafficked, raped, and killed without ever being remembered as more than a "tragic woman"
