hi im supposed to be studying for a math test but instead allow me to analyze shimizuās name.
shimizu kiyoko (Ā shÄĖmÄĖzoĶo kÄĖyÅĖkÅ ).
remarked by yamamoto taketora as being the perfect name for her, her surname and first name each has 3 syllables ( 6 in total ). 3 is, to the ear, a very pleasing number, giving a beginning, middle, & end to her name.
it also has a good balance of masculine and feminine sounds. the hard ks in kiyoko are met with the soft, feminine sh and m in shimizu. additionally, the use of vowels in her name ( mainly is, giving an EE sound & os giving the OH sound, also offer us a harsh sound followed by something smoother & more relaxing ).
not to mention, it sounds great together.
shimizu is written with the characters for clear and water / river. when we think about water, pouring endlessly and gracefully, holding no definite shape but instead filling any available, it is, in fact, the essence of the soundĀ āshimizu,ā calming & gentle. kiyoko, on the other hand, is written as pure child. this itself fits in with her surname, as clear can symbolically be associated with purity & honesty, & children are the epitome of innocence / purity. while sheās no longer a child, nor can she be considered pure in respect to innocence, she does represent a purified figure in the way sheās heightened above many other characters due to her beauty and stateliness. this way, pure may have the connotation of perfection, or untainted.
