Not only had she asked uncomfortably personal questions to Jotaro about their relationship, she also managed to tip off his “awful horrid fangirl” radar. So he wasn’t sure he’d want any presents from her, of all people….What would it even be? Something perverted, most likely.

Nonetheless, despite eyeing her carefully, he speaks up. “…What is it? I don’t much like talking to you….I don’t know what it would take to patch things up.” Well he certainly didn’t like beating around the bush.

She…was still kind of delusional, at least to Tenmei, but at least she was trying, in her defense. He’d overlook it, for the time being, if she behaved herself.

I almost didn’t recognize you. It’s been so long....How have you been?” He smiles at her, a lot more friendly now that he’s recognized her as not a stranger and didn’t just potentially embarrass himself from confusing people.

Mikaylah frowned, furrowing her eyebrows. She was just trying to be nice! Wasn’t that what the “Holiday Season” was supposed to be all about? Nonetheless, she huffed, handing over the small wrapped box.

“If you really really really want me to, like, spoil it for you, fine. It’s a metal bookmark etched with a frog and cherry blossoms. I thought it was mega cute and that you might like it. ”

Admittedly, Tenmei was taken aback when it turned out that she didn’t plan on giving him something distasteful or perverted. Slowly picking off the wrapping and folding it neatly, making sure it doesn’t tear, he peers inside to see the bookmark with frogs and cherry blossoms....It was pretty cute, if he were to be honest, and practical too, considering he was a bookworm. Maybe she was...sort of okay. Although he’s hoping she’s changed since last time, because no matter how cute or practical her gifts would be, if she were still the same annoying Fujoshi as last time he’d run for the hills and never look back.
