Hi! I'm Ver, and I make things. This is my sideblog where I post my worldbuilding to. Poetry goes here as well, though it is then reblogged to my main. Whenever I finally start making visual art it will also go here.

I have two worlds: "Ver's fantasy" and "Ver's supernatural". Those are the names of their tags. Fantasy is mostly Tolkien style, though there are only two species and the nonhuman one is completely origonal, so not elves or anything. Supernatural is more vampires, werebeasts, etc. Either could be called a fantasy world of course but for simplicity I split them up like that.

BTW if you ever see weird formatting in posts, especially names and such with [[]] written around them, thats because I write pretty much everything in Obsidian first and thats just how you format file links there. I usually remove them when posted to tumblr but sometimes forget to.

If you are going to read this blog in chronological post order be advised it's gonna contradict itself. If you see a contradiction the newer information is correct: for example, my old world building background post has magical weapons, my new world building background post does not. Why couldn’t Evil sound evil?

“Hey! I like that bracelet, did you make it?” Nirum asked him while arm wrestling Freya as Liam walked in the throne-room of the sun.

They didn’t call it that. They called it the main room, or the control room. The thrones were where they sat to control the sun, and the Nulilil- sorry, Lililnu- only created four thrones so that no one could argue over whose turn it was. Not that that stopped anyone from arguing, of course, as when two of them were sat down at once they invariably ended up arguing about the correct direction and speed they should be traveling at.

And of course, they would eventually disagree over it to the point of murder, though only one of them knew that, and he was currently arm wrestling Freya- probably to decide who wins their current disagreement. Probably Nirum wanted to travel against the wind while Freya argued to travel with it. Probably nothing at all serious or consequential.

It was so hard, living with the four Nutrhi, to remember who one of them was. He murdered Liam’s great grandfather. Almost everyone in Blonicku had lost someone because of his actions. Fuck’s sake, Blonicku was created by his grandparents as an escape from Nirum’s war, and then ended by his great grandmother as her oath she made to oppose him had consequences she couldn’t have known. He was complimenting Liam’s bracelet while Freya grinned at him.

“Thanks! I made it a few years ago.” He couldn’t tell anyone. Time was changed by the Nuthri when they invented the ability to travel through it. To prevent the possibility of paradox, time would take action and preserve itself- Liam wasn’t allowed to say the words he wanted to say. He wasn’t allowed to scream at Freya to get away from him- his mouth wouldn’t even form the words.

The dragons at least understood him. They could see truths hidden, and they knew that Nirum was not as he acted, though they didn’t know the full truth. And they could see through Liam’s falsehood when he spoke to Nirum. When he was alone with his dragon, Limlin, he could listen to her concerns and while he couldn’t confirm them, it was nice to be with someone who understood.

His own ancestors, on his father’s side, also understood him. His grandparents and great grandparents were the first, aside from the dragons, to raise any concern about Nirum. Already they were unwilling to talk to him. But he wasn’t willing to talk to his dead relatives from before they died- not when he wasn’t able to tell them who he was. He wouldn’t be able to without crying.

He walked by the thrones and watched as Freya slowly started winning, before bumping into Nerquam.

Nerquam.

Right where they were standing, one day Freya and Aegir would find her blood, spilled by Nirum. The first true death, the first meaningful murder-

She flicked him on the shoulder, “Don’t you call yourself the Watcher? Watch where your going!” then moved past him to punch Freya’s arm just before she could win, handing the victory to Nirum.

“Thank you, sister. I can always count on you.” Nirum said, smiling, as Freya leapt up from her throne to retaliate.

Liam felt bile in the back of his throat. He walked, as quickly as he could without drawing suspicion, to the other exit from the room. He needed to see Limlin again in the dragon-quarters. He found himself almost wishing the long night would come sooner- at least then this fake peace would end.

How would an ageless but not fully divine child made of wind work? Imagine an elemental god who had a child, that child is made up of the element but must still meet the requirement of "vaguely humanoid and can move and is corporeal and is visible" so like a kid of fire would be made of flowing fire obv or light would just be extremely bright so you can't actually even see what the surface material is, or water would be humanoid with some variations but made of water flowing within the form's outline, but how would you make wind visible. Using only the material of wind, not spinning up any dust or whatever to make a visible outline. I have no idea how that would work.

I might be sharing these OCs eventually but until its developed more I'm not sorry

problem with saying anything about my OCs is all my current characters are immortal, and an immortal character is going to be damn near an entirely different person after a few hundered years at most, so if I want to say pretty much anything about them I have to choose a "present date" for all of the things I say to be true, but I don't wanna :(

My original OCverse, the one the current main one is originally based off of but is WILDLY different from, is a fanfic cross between Doctor Who, Undertale, and Hollow Knight, with heavy symbolism and inspiration taken from the Crucifiction of Jesus Christ. You are not going to find out how the fuck that works, but! If you see a drawing of a guy suffering, and I don't elaborate, its turbo space Jesus again.

oh yeah I forgot to update this blog in a while

Don't fully believe all the character descriptions. I flesh out the characters usually as I write them, and I very quickly realize that much of whats in the character descriptions on this blog are just not going to work with the character. Most (MOST) of the histories and stuff of the characters are true, but the personalities aren't always going to be- for example, I only decided once I actually started writing that Liam would be autism coded, or that Axel was such a good big sibling (they raised Liam almost as much as their parents did, after Liam was around twelve)

There is one other thing though- the Lopunil post is entirely wrong, I am going to have to rewrite it (AGAIN! THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE REWRITTEN THIS BITCH) because I decided the whole "forced madness" thing was boring. Most of his actions are the same but his soul isn't corrupted or anything.

I think I'm going to rewrite all the chapters after like chapter two (except for the out of order ones)

So 3-7 are probably going to be rewritten. I went into writing this with WAY too little planning so most chapters did not come out as well as I'd like. They're defo gonna have their order shuffled around, too.

To know which shall be rewritten, check the Writing Masterpost. It's been edited with which ones are going to be rewritten. ALL of them are likely to be shuffled, except for 1 alone. Remembering Mekrun will become part two, what is now part two will be part three, a few others are going to be swapped, you get the idea.

I still have no idea how I am going to organize it all.

Colors

LONG awaited post by now (like a month and a half)

I got rid of personalized magical weapons, everyone has to make their own weapons now out of actual physical materials. You can enchant weapons via runes but its different from how it was before.

One loss of this- and the reason why I really didn't want to do it- is the loss of personalized weapons. Before, every weapon was unique to their owner. You can recognize someone for 100% certainty just based off their weapon (unless they put an illusion on their weapon and made it look like someone else's). it was like a fingerprint.

NOW that is lost, so I made up something to replaced it.

Everyone has Colors. Everyone has at least two of them, some have four of them. The colors are 100%, entirely unique to you, unless you happen to have an identical twin- you two will share colors. The difference between colors is sometimes only small, but it is very rare for two people to have very close colors, given they have two of them. Even if the colors are close, the places they are expressed will be different. The Colors can be literally ANY color except for white, grey, or black. So long as it has some proper color, it counts.

In Numen, it covers the patterns of their fur. Most of their fur is a shade of grey that they inherit, but they all have some kind of patterns on their fur that these Colors fill. For more info, see this.

In both species, Colors decides the eyes and the wings. Eyes are two different colors, the pupil is the inner area and the iris is the outer area. No one has black pupils in this world. Pupils are one color, the iris is another color. This is why some people have four colors- if you are heterochromatic, you have four colors, two per eye. But EVERYONE has inner and outer eye colors. Colors are also shown in patters on the wings, if they have wings, that are unique to every individual, though the patterns are known to be based on inheritance, whereas Colors are entirely random.
