I can never talk about media's depiction of sex on this website
Half of yall think there is absolutely no reason media should depict sex ever, because it's "pointless bait"
The other half don't bother to analyze what the story is telling us by showing these sex scenes, and if they should have been shown at all for that narrative
Like all other narrative tools, sex can totally have a purpose in the story. But also, like other narrative tools, sex can be overused and/or used incorrectly given the context of a story.
Remember, these are fantasies, not real life. Someone is controlling the situation behind that camera. They decide the atmosphere and context, and it's not going to really match up irl because it isn’t real. People have sex irl just because they can. But in storytelling, there's a purpose for it. Sometimes, the curtains aren't just blue if they have to be pointed out by the narrative to begin with
And I hate how this conversation always ends up. Y’all be arguing whether or not teens have sex, when you should really question why do we need to see 30yr old looking teens have sex geared for adult demographics
