Hello! It's Vern. Curmudgeonly I am in my ways and I have only just recently found a post like this one on another blog I like and I thought, hey, what a functional idea for a pinned post. These topics are under read more:
What is this blog? What is not on this blog? What tags do you use? Do you take commissions? How do I reach out to you? And dni list
This blog is chiefly an art blog, but I do post some funny things and things tangentially related to art here. This is my only tumblr I currently use, so some things that are in my interests end up here. Any other blog that claims to be me is not me.
This blog IS NOT a space that tolerates hate speech or any anti-LGBTQ sentiment at all. I am queer and I frequently post about queer things. This blog is also a reasonably safe blog for those with many triggers. I have many triggers myself and I don't typically tag any triggers in my posts because I don't typically make or reblog any posts that need it. If I do, such as posts that may have violence if I believe it is relevant and important to my interests, I will tag it.
Speaking of tags, I do use some regular tags for my art and sometimes other posts! Here is a running list:
#art - general tag for all art I post or share!
#art inspo - art or references that I reblog to reference later for inspiration
#bark arts - tag for art of dogs or wolves, usually art that I've made
#bat arts - tag for bat art, sometimes includes my fursona and most recently includes some vampire the masquerade stuff
#bun arts - tag for rabbit art -- my fursona is in here a lot!
#digital art - tag for art make on a computer, usually mine
#doodle - silly art that I didn't put that much time into, sometimes made on my phone lol
#shit doodle - same as doodle, except it has the added distinction of being made while I was shitting on the toilet
#text - tag for text-only posts, usually those that I make
#traditional art - tag for pictures of art I made in meat space on a piece of paper, crocheted, or other things like that
#update - I haven't posted much in this tag, but this has to do with stuff in my life that may affect the blog or art or whatever
I do use other tags, but I made this list with my followers in mind who may want to look up specific things on my blog.
I have taken commissions and I won't necessarily say no to a commission, but I don't have a price list or anything made for you to reference. If you really want art at this time (first of all thanks c: but) you'll have to reach out to me personally with what you would like! I do have a PayPal that I have set up for specifically this reason but I am bad at being a business person so I haven't gotten worked out much beyond that 🫠
As for communicating with me, my ask box is open and I am open to dm's right now! I would love to network or talk about whatever. I don't take requests really over ask box or anything like that, but if the mood strikes me I may make a little doodle as a treat for talking to me :o)
My clasped weft cowl is finally off the loom! I can't believe i warped this up a whole month ago. I'm absolutely loving the technique and how it all came out. I just need to wash it, trim ends and block it!
This will be my entry into the state fair for the 'woven scarf or shawl' category!
One foot is on a rollerskate that says "feeling infantalized for being neurodivergent" and the other is on another that says "feeling pressured to conform to arbitrary markers of adulthood" and im doing the splits so hard my jeans rip and my ass is hanging out like spongebob
Question cause I'm curious--note in this question, parents and guardians are referred to as PCG (primary care givers) in order to include those not raised by parents. (If you were raised by someone other than your primary care giver for a time and you went no contact with that person, answer these questions as they relate to that person)
What is your current contact status with your PCG?
I have gone no contact for a few days or less
I have gone no contact for a few to several months
I have gone no contact for between 1-2 years
I have gone no contact for between 2-5 years
I have gone no contact for between 5-10 years
I have gone no contact for 10+ years
My PCG was insistent in an unavoidable way, so I broke no contact
My PGC's/someone connected health deteriorated, so I broke no contact
My PCG changed ways and reached out to make amends, so I broke no contact
I had no choice due to finances/shelter/ect. and had to break no contact
I have never gone no contact with my PCG
Situation not listed/multiple circumstances/other nuance
Remaining time: 5 days 7 hours
For the purposes of this poll, I won't tag no contact or anything related because I, in part, am curious about how many people genuinely have gone no contact in a greater population. Obv there will be some skewed results due to a lot of mentally ill queer people being on tumblr lol but I watched a video essay that mentioned at some point that there aren't good metrics for people going no contact with their PCGs and it got me curious.
"I'm neurospicy" "Spicy version of x on my y" "Add a little... spice" aaaaaaaahahahahahahahhhhhhAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHHAGAGAGAGAAAA
To clarify, if you DO identify with terms like "neurospicy" and you call your smut novel a "spicy romance", I have no personal qualms with you. "Spicy" also just happens to be an extremely easy newspeak for brands and tiktok advertisements to latch on to all while taking advantage of the otherness of the thing they're referring to

I must not explain the joke. Explaining the joke is the joke-killer. I will face my followers who did not get the joke. I will permit them to pass over me and through me
Job market SUCKS ASS and I had to quit my previous job which was full time and had a great team and all due to pay, commute, and it just asking too much of me. Thing that sucks big about that is that I keep thinking in my mind brane that if I just pulled myself up by my bootstraps until I found another job (I was actively looking and interviewing for months, nothing) that I would be in a much more financially comfortable position and i wouldnt feel so ech about it. I know logically this is mostly mental illness and because my country gives few shits about whether i live or die, but u know.
I am very thankful to have 2 beautiful partners who are both working part time jobs at nearly full time hours in order for us to be able to like live in a place that has air conditioning and a fridge. Just wish i could do more. I doubly think maybe i could do the online artist thing and try to sell my shit that way, but clearly this is not something that I know the first thing how to do. Like ya i could make a commissions page and all but i figure i need like... a following first and i suspect many of my followers are indeed bots lol. Just saturation on top of saturation. Internet saturated w artists, job market saturated w workers, everywhere saturated w bots.
