coming back to an old wip is like re-hooking up with a past one night stand and when they ask for a repeat of the trick you did last time you try for twenty minutes before apologetically admitting “i honestly have no idea how i did that before and i don’t think i can do it again sorry” and then you watch as they stare unblinkingly into your eyes before your own gaze drifts slowly down their torso and realize in crescendoing horror that only their face is flesh and bone the rest of their form a mutated pity of misplaced lines and shadows and no matter what you do You Cannot Help they scream out in pain but You Cannot Help they’re crying now they’ve fallen to their knees their half-rendered grotesque excuse of a hand clawing at your own desperately pleading for mercy for salvation for anything to stop the pain of being left half born and already abandoned but You Cannot Save Them Your Body Does Not Remember How
