Meaning of the second Gandanta:

Magha is the description of generation in the context of what came before you. It is the need to know why or how you have found yourself in the midst of your bloodline. Magha wants to understand karma and wield its power.

Purva Phalguni is now looking ahead, into the future, into being a medium to continue what came before their current timeline. Purva Phalguni is proactive, it is the opposite of procrastination because in order to continue a task that you started before, you need to active the fire power needed to propel. Venus nakshatras a whole represent the transitory stages of advancing.

Uttara phalguni, much like Krittika, represents the establishment and steadyness that comes after taking action, because after taking action toward something, you create something of substance, be it learning or inventing. Hence why Uttara Phalguni is a fixed nakshatra. So Uttara Phalguni is the foundation.

Hasta is the representation of skill. It is where a person finds that they can manipulate or reinvent what is established in order to improve it or advance from it. I personally see Hasta as a very playful nakshatra, in the sense that it experiments with new ideas from a safe and already established position made in the Uttara Phalguni stage.

Chitra is the work that began in Uttara Phalguni finished to perfection. Here, we have a solid indestructible structure made from our own hands. What was once ephemeral is now so tangible that we can touch it. Chitra shows the state of any object or being in absolute refinement, and this is perhaps the reason why Chitra nakshatra is so prominent in female royalty. Chitra is the Gem.

Swati, just like Ardra, shows a dissolution of what you once thought was permanent, as rahu nakshatras through the gandantas represent a shift in the mindset and makes us question the structural integrity of beliefs. Here in Swati, we are asked a question "Who am I without the input of others?" Swati represents independence.

Vishaka is the path of choice we have to make after choosing freedom, "Do I go left?, Or do I go right?" Vishaka is when a person is left to choose for themselves all on their own. Isolation begins here because you are now separate from opinion.

Anuradha is devotion to yourself and soul, it is staying true to the path you have chosen and rising from it. Anuradha is the dedication and resilience needed to rise up in life. Anuradha attains success.

Jyeshta sustains the success gained in Anuradha, Jyeshta is where you have to fight for what you have gained fair and square and remain at your rightful place of power. It is hard to remain No.1. You will always have competition with opponents coming left and right. At this position, there is no place for rest or lenience as just one slip-up would give coveters the chance to rip into you. But those who are able to maintain this position are remembered not just for being undefeated but for attaining a divine-like position in history.

Ashwini is the beginning, it is when the energy of existence is looming, the initial substance of becoming.🎇

Bharani is the process of becoming, it is the transformation of one state to another, from spiritual to material.⏳️

Kritika is the material, the finished produce that comes out without imperfections, after being molded to perfection, the creation begins to be. Awareness.🫡

Rohini is experience, which is what comes after awareness, as you first need to be aware in order to feel. You can't enjoy food if you are not aware of it.🥰

Mrigashira marks the first spring of intellect, rohini is experience but mrigashira is desire for more experience. This is curiosity. 🤨

Ardra is realisation, the realisation of concepts, of consequences, of the abstract and the concrete, of what is ephemeral and what will last.☹️

Punarvasu is also realisation, but the realisation of something different, something forgiving, something reassuring, the knowing that there is still hope after mistake, knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Punarvasu is hope.🌥

Pushya is peace, it is reform after forgiveness, it represents knowing then proceeding, it is the freedom to now choose for yourself knowing that there is safety because you now have learned, you have learned that the neon mushroom is poisonous so you know not to touch it.😌

Ashlesha is the release, the release from sin, as you are now knowledgeable and independent, you know the do's and don't's, the right and wrong, and you have learned the art of existing in safety.🐍

Meaning of the nakshatras part 3

Mula is where everything you thought defined your identity is ruthlessly ripped out by the roots. Everything you gained in Jyeshtha is removed or sucked away from you, just like how mula nakshatra is located towards the center of our galaxy where the black hole is located. Everything that is past its due time is sucked into the black hole called Sagittarius_A*. (That is why I use the mid mula galactic center ayanamsa because it is calculated using the very root of our galaxy.) At this position, there is no room for denial, bargaining, or holding onto past glories. It is the cosmic state of losing thoroughly, being made to let go and start completely from scratch with a completely new perspective on life.

Purva Ashadha sustains this and turns your absolute rock-bottom into an invincible fortress of faith, because when you have nothing left, the only thing you have is yourself and your will to continue standing. This is when you must stand up in the aftermath of destruction and declare yourself undefeated. On a crossroad like this, you have to fight the lingering shadows of doubt and declare your vision fair and square which would make sense as Purva Ashada's shakti is "The power to invigorate". There is no place for pessimism or hesitation here; you must charge forward like an unstoppable arrow. Those who are able to master this difficult display of optimism do not just win early victories, but become legendary beacons of inspiration who can even manifest miracles out of thin air.

Uttara Ashadha solidifies the fiery vision of Purva Ashadha as it is called "The latter victorious one", anchoring your internal faith into a lifelong, unyielding duty. It is where the flashy, early success fades, and now you have to build a lasting empire through sheer, disciplined work ethic. At this position, it is incredibly hard to maintain your focus as the road is long, lonely, and completely devoid of cheap applause, and seeing as Uttara Ashada's yoni animal is a mongoose that destroys anything serpentine aka "illusions" and does not have a yoni consort, it really goes to show the sheer amount of unwavering will such natives must have. Laziness or short-term shortcuts are unacceptable, because a moment of weakness can cause the massive structure you are building to collapse. But those who endure this grueling test of character are remembered for attaining an immortal, mountain-like legacy that stands the test of centuries.

Shravana is the listening star, and it shows us just how much you can gain from total internal silence, a lot of people find it difficult to simply sit with silence and isolate with their own thoughts, but shravana teaches us that by reflecting and being open to divine grace, your self and your state of mmind will be greatky elevated. It is where you must sit quietly on the alone, shut your eyes, mouth, and senses leaving only your ears to listen to the whispers of the cosmos. At this position, it is incredibly hard to remain still, as the world constantly screams for your attention and action, but here is no place for ego or talking back, a simple arrogant word can break your connection to divine timing and cause you to miss the cosmic cue. But those who master the art of absolute observation are able to gain a perfect clairvoyance, knowing the thoughts of others before they are even spoken.

Dhanishta now weaponizes this quiet wisdom turning cosmic insight into a flawless and rhythmic drive for wealth and high status (Dhanishtas wish "may we revolve around the summit of the gods."). It is where you transition Shravana's insight into information that fuels your movement where you can march to the beat of your own cosmic drum, demanding that the material world bend to your perfect timing. Here, it is intensely hard to maintain your tempo, as critics and rivals will constantly try to disrupt your flow. Self-doubt or falling out of step as this can ruin your manifestation. But those who maintain their rhythm are remembered for achieving absolute abundance. Then through this they gain Maeda's touch, turning every single thing they touch into gold.

Shatabhisha manifests when an individual begins to draw an enclosed circle around themself after being subjected to harmful exposure to protect itself or it simply hides behind a veil to observe the rhythm of tjose around them. It is where, after considerable observation, you realize that material wealth cannot cure soul-sickness, forcing you to look for answers in forbidden, alternative realms. When in a hidden state, it is hard to survive the crushing weight of paranoia and deep isolation, so you are always looking left and right. There isn't a chance for shallow logic as a desperate attempt to fit back into normal society can poison your path. But those who master the art of stealth and thorough observation emerge as miraculous healers who hold the keys to curing the incurable.

In Shatabhisha, we faced observation in isolation, but in Purva Bhadrapada we face existence in isolation. In Shatabhisha we observed others but in Purva Bhadrapada we must observe ourselves. It is the star of the death-bed and the double-headed man, where you must look at your deepest and darkest shadow side and willingly set yourself on fire to burn away your remaining karma. At this position, it is excruciatingly hard to maintain your sanity (sometimes when i think of Purva Bhadrapada, i think of bi-polar disorder), as you are balancing between absolute dark passion and absolute spiritual detachment, a compromise with your lower ego can cause a catastrophic moral fall.

(Uttara Bhadrapada is not reaching out to me right now, so I'll just come back to write it when it does.)

Revati is the final nakshatra in the final Gandanta gateway, where the soul has fully evolved, gathered all earthly experiences, and must now completely dissolve back into nothingness. At this position, it is impossibly hard to maintain your individuality, because the boundary lines of your ego are melting away into pure divine love. There isn't a place for material greed, attachments, or holding onto things here, one attempt to cling to an earthly identity will cause you to drown in existential confusion. But those who can completely let go and surrender step through the ultimate portal to become immortal star-stuff, ready to be reborn as a brand-new spark in Ashwini.

On Deer Yoni:

There is a book called "The Secret Life of Animals" by Peter Wohlleben with little passages about his observations of the animal life.

I came across the chapter called "grief" and it was about deers. He says that the male deers were violent and hostile by the age 2, the age they mature, and they leave the rest of the family to go on their own. He says that this approach is also true for the adopted families. People who take care of male deers while they are mere babies, are subjected to the violence of the male deer when they grow up. He relates this to the male deers seeing everyone, especially their own family, as rivals, competitors and they instinctually act hostile towards them to eliminate competition.

About the female deers, he says that the family is a matrionly hierarchy. The leader of the family is a female deer who has instincts that the others trust. She has to be a mother, because a leader is one who has proven that they can take on another's burden on top of theirs, and a mother who does it well is already a leader. But to be the leader of the family, usually it has to be one of the older female deers, more experienced, one who knows the area, the dangers and therefore doesn't spook easily/unnecessarily, only when the danger perceived is an accurate one. And that requires lived experience.

I found that it was an interesting insight on the nature of deers therefore the deer yonis. Male deers are quite similar to the jyeshtas who are hostile and competitive. Though I do wonder, if the wisdom of experience is transferred mostly through family life in female deers, they would be much more wise than the male deers who mostly discover the wisdom on their own with each generation. The male deers' life story seems like a loop whereas the female deers life story seems like a tree ever-branching and deepening it's roots. This would also bring some sense to the "eldest one" label of the jyeshta nakshatras if it were also observed in male deers. It got me a little confused.

There was an even more tragic part to the observation the writer had. The female leader who has lost her child, would also be lost by grief herself. She would be distracted, due to visiting the child's grave and the pain of loss, and would no longer be depended on or seen fit for leading the family. All the while still belonging in the family. What is worse is, if the female leader dies before her child, her child won't be adopted by anyone. And apparently there is in fact an adoption culture among deers, yet the welcome is not extended to the child of the leader who has died. On the contrary the child would be badly treated and ostracized. I still am confused on this matter and horrified by the ruthlessness. I am confused about the male deer nature too, I have to learn more about how they live their life, I wonder if their wandering around makes for some sort of territorial marking for other animals and maybe protects the family in a nondirect way.

I thought it was interesting to see the Anuradha-Jyeshta nakshatras through these lenses. Anuradha's loyalty, dependability, wisdom and Jyeshta's hostility, dislike of communal/family life could be seen through these animals way of living.

Astrology of Ottoman Music

In 15th century Ottoman music theory, music was so important and divine there was entire hospitals and medical treatments based on healing people with music, as it was also perscribed by Islamic doctors. Rather than a simple sound or entertainment, it was treated as a mirror reflecting the grand architecture of cosmos. Known as the Bâtınî Makam Modeli (Esoteric Model of Makam), this framework connected music theory to medieval astrology (ilm-i nücûm) and Islamic mysticism (Tasawwuf).

According to Ottoman music theory, the notes and soul align together cosmically.

The Sacred Architecture: MAŞT (Makam, Âvâze, Şûbe, Terkib)

Ottoman theorists structured music around a four-part system known as MAŞT. Each component directly mirrored a cosmological or astrological layer of creation:

12 Makams = 12 Zodiac Signs: The term makam itself was borrowed from astrological vocabulary, meaning a "place" or "mansion". The 12 primary makams were assigned to the 12 signs of the Zodiac (e.g Rast to Aries, Hicaz to Sagittarius, Nevâ to Aquarius)

7 Âvâzes = 7 Classical Planets (Seyyareler): The 7 secondary melodic modes corresponded to the 7 visible celestial bodies (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn).

4 Şûbes (branches) = The 4 Elements & Human Nature: The 4 branches represented the sacred Tetraktys and matched the Four Elements (fire, earth, air, water) and the four humors/natures (hot, cold, wet, dry)

Terkibs = Astronomical Cycles: The complex compound modes (terkib) represented units of time (hours, days, weeks) derived from the movements of the sun and moon.

The Language of the Sky and the Scale

Ottoman musicians matched their language to astrology to describe their crafts

Seyir (melodic progression) was seen as equivalent to a planet’s transit through various Zodiac houses.

Evc and Hazîz designated both the highest/lowest pitches in a musical mode and the zenith/nadir of a planet's orbit.

Karar / Hübut described both the resolution (landing note) of a melody and the setting or descent of a star (akin to exaltation and fall)

Musiki as a Bridge to the Divine (Tasawwuf)

Early Sufi thinkers believed that the movement of the heavens produced an unseen, divine harmony. In Sufi thought, the human being is a small cosmos (Âlem-i Asğar), and the universe is a macrocosm (Âlem-i Ekber). Playing a specific makam associated with a particular element (Fire, Water, Air, Earth) or planet was believed to physically and spiritually re-align the listener’s four humors and soul with the universal balance.

In Sema (Sufis also called music "sema") and Sufi musical gatherings, listening to makams was a form of remembrance (zikir). Because the makam movements (seyir) mimicked planetary transits, performing music became a way to mirror the eternal circular motion of the cosmos, drawing the human spirit away from earthly noise and back toward Divine Unity (Tawhid).

Like what if as we go through mars to jupiter, the personality gets more coverage and the person gets even more confused about their personality? The relation of the person to their personality gets more unstable, more fluid.

Mars with it's armour : it is clear that there is a paravan between the outer world and the person, it is visible and known, and meant to be known. Martians like to appear strong. They like to put on a front saying "beware, I'll fight ya".

Rahu with it's mask : a mask is only part of a costume. Arguably the most impactful part, since it is covering the face. Rahuvians cover their faces, their expressions, thoughts, opinions. To stay behind the veil and surveil the rest. As if to say "don't mind me, I'm just lurking, don't add me to your conversation, I am observing".

Jupiter with it's costume : now a costume is a full body disguise, it's full coverage. A person in a costume could pretend to be anyone and anything. It is playing, showcasing. And shedding it off when convenient. "No it was a costume, you see, it wasn't I doing those, saying those, thinking those. Merely a character."

Martians can be stuck on what THEY believe they are,

Rahuvians can be stuck on not being bothered, not being brought into playing the game with the others and losing personality by not interacting,

Jupiterians can get lost in the game and believing it is all a play, losing sight of a solid sense of self in their parade of characters that are, some weak some exaggerated, fractions of their personalities.

Is it a Magha approach to life to feel like a tree of a human? Like feeling like a link in the chain of their ancestors? Despite being within Leo this feels very saturnian. Opposite of individuality. Feeling like a branch of the family tree rather than being an individual being. Therefore feeling the weight of their existence, their stories, their mistakes, wishes, accomplishments and feeling like an agent of continuation of said family. Across times and lands. Compared to the responsibility of the Aquarius (I feel it is specificly relevant to Dhanishtas the most) that is to their community and the continuation of their prosperity into the future, Leos' (again, I feel it is mostly relevant to the Maghas) source of motivation of being comes from the past.

I don't remember where I saw or heard it from but someone described the 11th house "the last wish before death" house. The 10th house being the legacy house, could maybe the 11th house be the wishes, desires that were left aside or pushed behind the duty we take upon ourselves for this life? I have read and heard before, multiple times, the 11th house being "the house of desires" but I never thought of it this way.

So, it could also be linked to the life at retirement maybe. What remains that we haven't fulfilled even after (hopefully) having fulfilled our duty in this life, things that may never come true actually, because it wasn't meant to be. Maybe that house could point to these. I am thinking about this in a negative way, I don't know why. But I found it was an interesting and worthy of consideration perspective in understanding the house.
