Who is actually concerned with the Asian identity and what exactly does it mean to be an Asian in Europe? Asians are often forgotten in racism debates and left out of many key sectors, such as education and media to give some very important examples. Asians have a lot in common when it comes to the lack of Asian representation. But how much of an Asian do you really have to be to be representative of the Asian community? How much of an Asian are you actually? And what does being free actually mean? (In conjunction with being Asian) Vrij Aziatisch (literally:Very Asian) is a Dutch initiative to capture the Asian identity in Europe in the broadest sense of the word. An initiative to safeguard and develop this identity that is so difficult (but not impossible) to unite. Even if you are Very Asian, how much freedom do you have as an Asian when there is no one to safeguard your Asian interests? #vrijaziatisch #veryasian #veryasiannl #veryasianeu #stopasianhate
The September the 10th is WSPD. Therefore we would like to share a meme that also gives attention to famous Asians that are no more. Because: do we know what depression looks like?
A reminder of the importance of checking in with our fellow Asians, especially in places or countries where Asians are a vulnerable minority.
Can you all recognize these people? Please post in the comments! 🙏🏼
