Very Different Star is a Discord server centered around Project Hail Mary and original characters within its universe. (While our server may be themed around Erid, non-Eridian original characters within the same universe are also permitted!) Within the server, fan content featuring OCs may be shared and discussed. Collaborative writing or roleplaying is also facilitated by the server's role opt-in and pinging system, though an interest in this system is by no means a requirement to join!
Is there an age requirement?
You must be 18 or older to join this server.
Do I need a PHM OC to join?
You do not necessarily need to currently possess a Project Hail Mary original character in order to join this server—especially as the server itself may be a good resource for the creation of said character(s), if you wish (such as by asking for aid or feedback during the creation process)!
Do characters inspired by other media count?
So long as the original character is at least somewhat, well, original, then yes! As an example, an Eridian character inspired by a character from another form of media would definitely be permitted, as to convert said character into an alien form and culture is already transformative by design. As long as the end result is an OC specifically catered to the Project Hail Mary universe, the inspiration sources for a character can be whatever you wish!
Can fanwork without original characters be shared?
The primary channels in the server are focused on fanwork containing original characters; however, there are secondary channels in which other Project Hail Mary content may be shared.
