Idk if I will sound like a CB boot licker, but whatever, I just see it being critiqued for the dumbest stuff sometimes.

If you find CB boring, that’s fine, you have 50+ books full of unrealistic events, LI, behaviours etc, why RC can’t have one book where stuff are more close to real world, I genuinely don’t understand😭.

You can say that the setting is not your cup of tea, but disappointed ? lmao. As far as I know the book didn’t set any expectations, Idk why some people get really upset when it’s not what they want and say “well it should have been this instead” like?😭 go watch your Grey’s Anatomy, it got like billion seasons.(I watched it back in 2018, trust me, I was really fixated on the show myself and I wouldn’t bring up a piece of media to bring another one down. The show is full of unrealistic medical drama and is a romantic hot mess, I don’t even know how this would be implemented in RC lol). Also, Idk how I feel about calling somebody who is in a relationship and is open for a poly relationship a “package”. I’ve seen this a lot surrounding Eugene and Dakota, and it’s rubbing me the wrong way.

Unrelated to the Reddit comment, but I’ve seen multiple times people defend their hatred for Flint with “Well, the book setting is more realistic, so I hate an asshole-ish character more than in fantasy books”, and I’m just like????? What is that supposed to fucking mean, I like genuinely ask, I’ve seen it so many times and I just don’t understand. Fantasy or not, all human interactions are coming from our real world, and are directly inspired, willingly or not. Even if they seem absurd sometimes. Like, do you give some pity points to an asshole-ish character because he got demon wings or something?😭 Like of course certain settings adds layers to the character, but that can happen in real world too like😭💀

Also I like how many people under “unpopular opinions“ post talk about how they despise Flint, like, do you really think it’s an unpopular opinion😑? It still blows my mind how much hate they get for calling Jules stupid once, putting a few unwanted pranks and overall being mean at worse. Like I deadass saw people (not under that post) saying how they want to beat them up???like???idk what to say anymore, we are cooked.

Unpopular opinions are fine, disliking something or someone is fine, I comment only on the stupid/weird reasons for said hatred, overblown hatred, weird projections on the story or character and disrespect on the work or it’s author. Maybe I will blow somebody’s mind, but you can state your negative opinion on the book and the characters without sounding like an asshole. It’s just blows my mind, I spend maybe even more than an hour to write and polish my text to not sound disruptive and try to respectfully state my point, but some people don’t even fucking try.

All of this is not directed to that person on the attachment, it’s just a rant about some stuff that have been piling up, some small comments like this are just triggers.

I’m gonna scratch the itch and talk about AI usage in CG images

I didn’t want to rant about it since I might look like a crazy guy that sees AI everywhere, but we live in 2026 and RC have been previously accused of using AI (throwback to that new shopping day image where a character had a fully broken leg, and also fucking live avatars).

Since Im a Code Blue nerd, I’ll talk about it. I won’t go deep on all the stuff that I’m suspicious of, but just some.

I’m an artist, so I often analyse those CGI’s and think on how they were made, so I kinda developed an eye for it, but those are still subjective. I will say that so far, there was more care put into S2 images than S1(I think that Tobias kiss CG image was fully hand drawn). I noticed that AI generated/manipulated stuff tend to be, as I describe it, “weirdly smooth”(I wish it is just an artistic style, but right now I’m speaking from my observations, and I can only be suspicious). But right now I want to talk about some silly inconsistencies.

I don’t really care about it being mirrored, but more about buttons being different. Also on the CGI it has that weird smoothness and seems more realistic than on the sprite. But I might be nitpicking. I can be the devils advocate and say that the artists just don’t wanna bother with details, but since it’s this realistic…why not stick to the details? I will also say that it includes weird shoes and stethoscope visuals on some background characters. It’s more nitpicky, but I just wanted to rant.

Now, this fucking belt is why I wanted to make this post. Like why the fuck it’s there if it’s not on the sprite or the second CGI😭 This is just funny. The only thing I can think about is that the artist forgot/misremembered or looked at the pose/cloth reference that had the belt on it. But it’s still hella funny to me and I can’t be silent about it lmfao😭.

I don’t want to throw accusations, Im already tired of AI and RC already has been shamelessly using it previously. I want those to be human mistakes, but I can only be suspicious now. You can say I’m paranoid, but can you blame me? I have more to say, but I’m tired, let me just make fun of these inconsistencies.

(Btw that’s not the CB problem it’s RC in general)

I will post Flint’s apology as a whole scene, but now I want to talk about how I dislike Annette and how well she is written as a character. Like, she is not *evil*, I can't even say she is a bad person or a bad mom, she clearly loves her child and has her own serious issues, but. I want her to shut the fuck up and never say things like this about Flint (and other people who aren't white, cis and straight, for real). "My non-binary Native assistant", what the actual fuck. You don't care about their talents, not to mention their feelings.

(I haven't actually seen "non-binary" written like this, with a short dash between, I always use "nonbinary" for myself and I constantly see others do the same... please tell me is this spelling right)

I'm glad my boy doesn't support her!

(I also hope there will be an opportunity to tell her everything I feel about her perception of Flint!)

What disgusts me more is the fact that Flint knows all this, but they choose to hold on to this job >< No, don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not mad at *them*, I'm mad at situation where seeing a nonbinary (and Native) person as some kind of novelty and "token diversity" is something normal.

Annette, don't pretend you care about people, when you don't treat people like, you know, *people*.

The reason why Flint was kind of a jerk towards my Isaiah is heartbreaking 💔💔💔 "have some fun with the latest addition to his mother's collection"... my dear, my beloved, did people actually do this to you? 😭 My boy would never. Because he is, you know, a decent person and not an asshole in searching for exotics. I want to hug Flint. I want to hug them so tight and give them all love in the world, because they deserve it.

To sum up: I have so many problems with Annette, I want to tell her off (and to fuck off from Flint, they deserve a better boss), but I really appreciate that she is written as a, well, regular person. It's very easy to believe she is real, because I, a nonbinary person myself, have seen people like her and people who are much worse than her. A lot of people. I say I appreciate how Yim wrote her because she isn't some villain or at least antagonist, who are "allowed" to have dubious morality, but just another character. She even is dear to main character.

*I know Flint said they're not trans (personally I consider myself both nonbinary and trans, but I know there are nonbinary people who don't), but I believe that transphobia is aimed at all people who aren't cis one way or another, transphobes don't care about our labels and our views on our gender identity. If you don't agree with me, I’m open for a polite and respectful discussion.

P.S. I like Isaiah’s haircut in a scene with Flint very much, and I *love* the fact it was possible to make a male MC wear a makeup, just look at these eyeshades, my boy is so queer.

P.P.S. I also appreciate that all choices that improved (romantic) relationship with Flint that were before this scene weren't written as some kind of pursuit of them and were more like as just... spending time with them.
