Have seen a whole lot of this talked about but I've been playing a lot of Hyrule Warriors lately and it got me thinking about the short amount of time Warriors was on skyloft. Just like his own soldiers and everyone else in the War, Warriors probably spent a lot of time with the current knights of Skyloft. He probably got really close to some of them too while he was there.

And ya know who was probably one of those knights?

Cue my new headcannon that Warriors actually knew Sky's dad from the war. And after it's all over, PapaSky goes back home to his pregnant wife, deciding to name his child after the Hero he just fought alongside in hopes that his kid will grow up to be just as kind and courageous as that Captain.

(or the tragic route in which PapaSky dies in battle and Warriors has to be the one to tell his pregnant wife the news. Eitherway, Sky is named after Warriors and no one knows)

well now I'm obsessed!

imagine the boys end up in Skyview village at some point in their adventure, and yeah, of course, it's cool and the younger ones are exploring (and dragging around Legend) and the older ones are kinda just looking around because this isn't THAT far in their past

And then someone stops them, calls out "Captain Link?" and it's just some skyloftian knight who's since retired, who's settled down now that they've come to the surface and who maybe Sky grew up around, knowing the guy worked with his dad

And of course Warriors responds, because he's a soldier and anyone addressing him by rank usually means he ought to respond. It take a second, of course it does, because the man's twenty-some-odd years older than he was, but then it clicks and Warriors' face is breaking into a smile and he calls the man by name, greet him, asks how he's doing?

And before they know it, all the old guard is gathered around, some with their own kids, some with grandchildren, all wanting them to meet the man who led them in combat against a demon and a dragon all those years ago, who became their captain too, if only for a while, because Skyloft wasn't prepared for war at the time.

There's questions, wonder too; how is he still so young? Did the war end? Who won? What brings him back here? And on it goes.

And Wars is thrilled. Sure, yes, this era was arguably one of the more traumatizing ones he went to, the first time he realized his own men could and would turn on him, but the knights of Skyloft never did, and there's a comradely between them that he didn't get in his own era, in a world where he's Helen of Troy rather than the Achilles that the Skyloftians see him as. So yeah, he's loosening up and bateringa ND answering questions

And then it comes up.

That one fallen soldier, the guy Warriors couldn't save, the one who he personally sought out the family of because he knew in his heart of hearts that he had to do it. How's the guy's wife? She was expecting, right? What became of the kid, how's he getting along?

And thats when one of them notices Sky standing there wit the rest of the heroes, maybe grabs him and tugs him over- he's an old student to many of them, and again, he grew up around them, so no one thinks anything of it. except then they're crowing about how "she named him after you, Cap! And he's the hero now, saved the goddess and everything!" And they've got stories, do they ever have stories! They're eager to share the work of their own hero with the one who fought beside them and saved them all those years ago.

And all the while, Sky and Wars are just sort of staring at each other, realization sinking in that Wars knew Sky's dad, a man that the chosen hero never met. They were friends even, brothers in arms maybe.

And Sky is named after Wars.

Sky wouldn't be alive today if Wars and his soldiers hadn't arrived on Skyloft when they did to fight of Ghirahim and Volga before the islands could be destroyed.

Neither says anything about it, not then, but there's a sort of wonder stirring up inside them every time they think about it, every time they realize how much of an impact their lives have directly had on one another, and how, in a crazy twist of fate, neither one of them would exist without the other.

It's a powerful sort of thing to think about, really.

Secondly, I'd like to ask: is it alright if I post a short canon-divergence crack fic of A Crown Amidst Courage? (That fic burrowed its way into my brain and took root lol). I totally understand you'd rather not have canon divergences of your work written by other people, and it's a completely self-indulgent thing that I'm happy to keep in my drafts to read myself. It's just that I rediscovered it today while reading through my many, MANY WIPS (I apparently wrote it back around October???) and figured it wouldn't hurt to ask :-)

I haven't slept in a proper bed since the beginning of the month LOL

So my house-guest is gonna have to deal with my sleep-sounds tonight, because I think sleeping in a bed might actually make me feel like a person again

So, I read your post about splitting and your struggles with what's going on IRL, and... Well, I don't think you know me because I'm one of the lurkers who occasionally comments on Ao3 or Tumblr, but I've been following you for a while. Your writing is beautiful and I had to speak up. Being the one stable person in the family hurts. In some ways, I think it can be more damaging than being the consistently unstable person/people of the family, because the pressure on you is that much greater. I can't speak to being the only stable person of the family for a long period of time, but my mother started showing signs of DID when I was about eight. My family is also chock full of neurodivergents and I also spend a lot of time making sure to translate between them and each other, or them and the rest of the world. Trying to talk to someone while figuring out who you're talking to is hard. It's exhausting, because you're always on alert and there's a lot of loss of safety and trust. Trying to monitor someone constantly so you know what role to fill, and then filling it regardless of how you feel about it in the moment, doing all the household practical work that no one has the bandwidth or ability to do, constantly answering with reassurances about being loved... Yeah, it hurts. But please, please don't tell yourself that you need to not have a personality so that everyone else can have more space to be themselves. I went down that way, and it leads nowhere good. You lose touch with your emotions until you suddenly explode, or implode depending on the person. You end up being so chronically stretched thin that you can't make space for yourself, your responsibilities in real life, or your own outside relationships. You end up being so burnt out that even the things you love don't refresh you any more. And eventually, the safety net snaps and you end up having to spend years to put yourself back together again. I'm still not fully recovered emotionally, even seven plus years later (though there are extenuating circumstances). I struggled a lot with not feeling seen, with not wanting to tell anyone my struggles because I was being a burden, because no one else had the space or capacity to take on my problems as well without breaking. From what I've read on your blog, I don't get the impression that you have tons of relationships to lean on as you support your family. Maybe you feel the same way I did. I urge you, implore you, Ketto, don't be the void everyone else screams into. Be the pathway that takes it to Jesus instead. Even if your family isn't in the right time or place for you to do it verbally, do it for yourself. "His burden is easy and his yoke is light." "Cast all your cares upon him, because he cares for you." If you try to take all or even some of the emotions into yourself, I can guarantee that only ends in you crumbling. It's not a way either you or they can long term survive.

You write to process what you see going on around you; so do I. I think both of us write the more beautifully for it. But it's okay if you can't write this one to process your emotions. Hug Jesus and cry instead. I'm here to talk if you ever need me. Know that I'm praying to bear your burdens with you. I've been praying about it for a while, so I do have that outlet. And yeah, I don't really have any relationships outside of my family. I've been trying to forge some here and there, but inevitably, someone in my family ends up having an issue with most of the people I'm around and it always ends up with me walking away to either avoid drama or because things turn toxic with those people as a result.

We are moving though, and I'm hoping to use that as a new start and a chance to build a life and maybe enter a social scene that my family has nothing to do with :)

They certainly could, but knowing both of them, they'd likely stick to something closer to Southern manners and just politely inform you of things, without once leveling veiled scorn at you for your upbringing (both built themselves from nothing after all)

That said, Four? Four would in a heartbeat. Four, Mr. Threatens-Legend-If-He-Dares-Freeze-Freshly-Forged-Metal would be giving you the most deadpan look as he explains even the most basic of mechanical, electrical, technical and coding principles to anyone being too excessively ignorant.

The story is a bit long actually so below the cut

Echoingvoids is one of my two go-to usernames on social media, the other being IMCRAZYFANFICTION which, while being incredibly iconic, was sometimes too long for certain sites. So I created this username using my Internet name as a jumping point.

The whole thing with me being "Echo" started from a fan-kid OC I made way back in 2022 named Echo. (If you're curious about her, you can read her poorly-written story on my Wattpad). I didn't want to use my real name online, and I really liked that name, so I kinda adopted it and became Echo.

OC Echo's thing was having powers surrounding "The Void" from Minecraft, and putting those things together, echoingvoids sounded really cool.

Its also kind of inspired by the Minecraft Dungeons DLC "Echoing Void", which plays through The End.

So there you go!

OK SO- PianoOfTime08 is one of my favorite usernames, and I think it’s so catchy too! It’s been my user name since she;I first got Reddit back like, in the beginning of high school I think, when I wanted Reddit to be in the TwiSetViolin subreddit, which they were my favorite musician YouTubers.

So some of you might already know it’s a Zelda reference, but Ocarina Of Time is my childhood game, (Alttp is too) and it’s one of my favorite video games, and the nostalgia I get when I would watch my uncle play it all the time and when he taught me to play it too…I just love it! Also, I play an instrument, the piano, so I combined two of some of my favorite things. As for the 08 part, well 8 is my favorite number!

So my favorite video game, then just replace the inrumenr ocarina with the instrument I play, piano, then add my favorite number, and you get PianoOfTime08!

It’s still my favorite username so that’s why I put it for my tumblr account when I made one! And there you go!

Mine's a simple story, I guess. I made the username up for Tumblr specifically, but meant this to be sort of a throw away, secondary account. I didn't realize side-blogs were a thing yet, so I made two accounts, one for main stuff, and this one to just....IDK, be a fandom blog, I guess. I used my old gamer-tag for my "primary" account, but just needed something, anything, for my secondary one.

At the time, I was having fun discovering new words and their meanings, from various languages, and before creating the account, I'd found out that 'boketto' means something that boils down to "no thoughts, head empty", so in keeping with my Ao3 tag (FlamingIdiot), I went down the jokingly deprecating route and chose to call myself another iteration of stupid, by using "no thoughts, head empty - kid" as my username.

And then I went and got attached to it :)

First has been canon for a quarter of a year now and I still haven't even touched that and I'm a bit disappointed in myself

When the Faron the light spirit turned Link back into a human/hylian, he was wearing the famous green tunic. I was under the belief this tunic was materialized right there and then by the light spirit.

But no, it's not.

The light spirit says this green tunic belonged to an ancient hero, but Faron doesn't specify which one. Midna even calls the outfit old and dusty, or something along those lines.

Due to tp Link's close ties with the Hero of Time, I thought maybe it was his. But I immediately wrote it off. Literally made a diagram of all the differences between them.

So I thought, "Well... maybe Time made himself a new one and passed it down?"

But then it hit me. This ancient hero goes way back before Time. Faron goes on about this ancient hero, telling Twilight his power rested within him. Faron was talking about the hero's spirit itself.

And where does the hero's spirit most likely originate from? (Or rather who?)

The Hero of the Sky.

And if you just take a gander at their two tunics, you'll notice they're practically the exact same with some minor differences.

While Twilight's tunic has some alterations and is more decorated... you can't possibly deny they are eerily similar. I've seen way too many people put Twilight in Sky's tunic or vice versa because they got them confused. Maybe it's because THAT IS THE SAME TUNIC!!!!! (With some embroidering and a new and improved armpit slit for ventilation)

Furthermore, Twilight Princess has an ancient city in the sky, it could quite possibly be the remnants left over from skyloft. Where the oocca originated, I do not want to know.

My running theory is that the Hero of the Sky was actually involved in the war that banished the Twili (the interloper war), and he and his Zelda had also been involved with the light spirits in some way. Sky could've donated his tunic to Faron, knowing a hero would one day have to deal with everything he'd left behind.

The war seems to have taken place before the founding of Hyrule, and it was during a time when the Triforce seemed readily avaliable. And what do you know? Skyward Sword is before Hyrule was founded, and the Triforce was just floating above Hylia's stone hands for all to see. Lowkey tempting amirite?

So Twilight not only got Ocarina of Time Link's hand-me-downs, but Skyward Sword Link's too!!! He is truly a nepo baby hero!!! Good for him!!! I think?

Excellent points all around! But I thought I'd provide a detail: the belts used to support a scabbard are usually called the baldric. The sheath is just the actual casing for the sword. Sometimes the belts that supports it is also called a sword belt, but that's usually when you wear the sword at your hip. For the Links, it's a baldric!
