Some of you guys come to the wrong place. This is my YAP blog, for yapping, complaining, and whining. I do post some of my artworks here, but this is not specifically an art blog 😭🙏🏼
It's so hypocritical of me telling fanartists to embrace their own artistic styles and not to overthink realism especially for interactive story games. Because, everytime I touch and gaze on my iPad, I keep cussing myself to get everything right from the character sprites.
I'm still so scared to follow my own style and having fun with it. It's like getting scared for breaking my own jail cell that's already open lol. I need to get better and be more adventurous.
I'd like to add the generative AI discourse as one of the causes of this paranoia of mine. It's like, as an artist, your works sometimes get compared to AI generated images. And people who do the comparison, they don't really care about your effort and the time you spent on the works. So, like under some pressure and suggestion, you keep working on art that's not in your style. You begin to hate making art.
The role of fast-pacing social media and their algorithms are also affecting how your works are affected. I still get disappointed and sad if my artworks don't break the test time on TikTok and get stuck with under 1K likes. And art trends are getting over too quickly. Sometimes they only last for less than a week. Many artists can't keep up with that. And most of the times, if we can't keep up, we get left behind and it's harder to break through.
I know my answers are in my own words up there, but I guess I just need some time to act on them. I also think, deep down, I'm just afraid to be forgotten and I want people to know about my works. And I like the attention and how people talk about my works. It's fun to see you laugh at my silly comics. It's fun to see people playfully cuss me for the "sad animatics" I made. It's fun to see people finally connect the dots of possibilities from my comics too.
I don't know why I write this. I blame the full moon.
Telling church ladies that I don't work corporate jobs feels like self humiliation. I know it's not but they don't really consider it as a real job (´◦ω◦`)
I just saw someone complained about Kira because of her sibling-like interaction with Yan and then paired her with Falcon. She's a child. A goddamn 14 years old. Players like these are so creepy and misogynistic, dear Lord 😐
And no, I don't really care if it's a "joke", because I am sure they didn't mean it as a joke.
I want to draw Cassiel and Audrey getting married in my tribal wedding dresses and tradition. I'll even make a comic out of it.
David will be the head of the kitchen, Raphael will be playing the traditional music instruments, Felonia will be the head security, Mikael will be the spokesman, and Malek will be priest before the traditional event day. Or Mikael and Malek can be Audrey's adoptive parents.
Bruno is their out of wedlock son. Everyone's gonna side eye the bride and groom in this wedding.

Audrey was acting strange. It had started around a week ago, after she’d returned from a gathering with Lane and the others.
“I have something in the oven, can you take it out?”
“Sure.” Cassiel fetched a pair of mitts, then opened the oven. Taking out the tray, he asked confusedly, “Audrey?”
“Mmm?”
“Why is there a single bread roll in the oven?”
“It’s not a roll, it’s a bun.”
“Okay? That still doesn’t answer my question.”
“It’s a bun…in the oven.”
“Yeah…”
He wasn’t getting it.
“We have a bun in the oven.”
“Actually, we have a bun out of the oven, because I just took it out.”
Audrey threw her hands in the air out of frustration. “God, you’re impossible!”
She stormed out of the kitchen, leaving one very confused Cassiel with a bread roll (sorry, bun).
“Why don’t you just tell him you’re expecting?” Austie asked.
Audrey scoffed, then mimicked Cassiel, speaking in a gruff voice, “Expecting what?”
“Okay, fair.”
“Scrabble game?” Lane suggested.
“Tried that.”
“Table for three,” Vicky threw out.
“He asked who else was coming.”
“...You’re right, you’re doomed.”
“Hey, do you know what’s wrong with Audrey?”
With a very serious face, David responded, “She swallowed a watermelon seed.”
“What? Are you having a stroke?”
“Did you have a stroke?” Felonia retorted. "I think brain damage is the only thing that can account for your stupidity right now.”
With his fellow demons turned against him, Cassiel went to the one person he could always rely on for advice: Mikael. The archangel was just as confused.
“I’m sorry I can’t be of more help…”
“It’s fine.”
But it wasn’t fine. Audrey was getting grumpier by the day, and David wouldn’t stop spouting nonsense about Cassiel being ‘in the club’ (when Cassiel asked him to elaborate he gave the bizarre answer of ‘pudding’) and ‘in trouble’ (that one Cassiel actually agreed on).
It all came to a head when the Astreans gathered for their monthly dinner. Malek waltzed in (fashionably late, of course) with a package of diapers, which he promptly handed to Cassiel. “I suspect you’ll be needing these.” He then smiled at Bruno, who’d placed himself protectively between Audrey and Malek; he’d never quite warmed up to their former enemy. “An excellent big brother.”
And finally, everything clicked.
(“You’re welcome, by the way.”
“Shut up, Malek.”)
Not me going down a rabbit hole of every euphemism for pregnancy 😅
