listen; while i do think abbot is a freak, i also think he is especially around violence too often. working in the ED they see wounds, sure, but jack abbot in the field sees injuries wrought from intent.

because of this, i think he truly does enjoy the gentleness of intimacy when it comes to sex. he likes to look at robby's face, he doesn't want any rough actions, even if they'd be eagerly welcomed. he wants to cup robby's graying beard and murmur sweet words to him, to feel the warm body against his own, and the heart beating in the chest under him. i'd like to think he sleeps the same way too, where he can feel robby's pulse.

robby and jack own a pub, dennis whitaker is a new hire bartender and he has to go and change a keg. gets drenched in lager. grumpy robby has to give him one of his t-shirts for the rest of the shift and dennis is going mental cause it smells like him. jack can’t stand the sight of dennis in robby’s shirt

Jack started calling Robby "pretty boy" in medical school. It was teasing at first but morphed into something warm and affectionate. It always made Robby blush, even when he could agree that he was kind of pretty (usually only under duress). But now Robby is old. He's fifty-three. He has crows feet and his tummy is soft and bigger than it's ever been. Pretty is not a term he would ever even use in the same sentence as himself. Doesn't mean he doesn't go beet red and flustered, swatting at Jack when he comes in for handoff with an "alright, pretty boy. Walk me through this board."

He takes a different plushie in with him every shift because he likes them all to have a turn going on an adventure, will hold them in the car to show them the view out the window.

Sometimes when Jack has the night off he comes to pick him up and brings one of Dennis' bigger plushies in the back seat so he can hold them too, but Dennis will only do so if he can put Jack's hoodie on so he isn't getting his plushie friend icky with hospital germs.
