PSA to all now that is is Pumpkin Spice Season

From someone who worked at starbucks. If you have a milk/dairy allergy AT ALL. DO NOT. I repeat. DO NOT. Drink Pumpkin Spice.

It contains dairy IN the syrup that is used to make the drink. Even if you get it made with soy, you will still be getting doses of dairy in there. 

Depending on the severity and intolerance it can and will cause reactions. I found that as a barista I was constantly warning people about the dairy in the product. No one ever seemed to tell them that there was dairy in the mix. More times than I can count I heard people realize that’s why they kept having reactions, or that’s why it made them sick.

People legitimately do not know that pumpkin spice no matter what you do will always contain some amount of dairy.

I work there and I ask every lady that orders it with soy milk how allergic or intollerant to dairy she is for this reason. Its proabably safe to assume the same is true for our new TOASTED GRAHM LATTE. Will look into it today.

PSA: all of the heavy sauces (Pumpkin, white mocha, Toasted Graham, and other seasonals) have the dairy in them! The syrups, such as Raspberry, peppermint, vanilla, Cinnamon Dolce, and others like that DO NOT. If you are severely lactose intolerant, I would start looking up alternatives to the drinks I’d need be. The secret barista menu online probably has recipes for alternatives to these drinks, so I would head there. Just make sure that you know the recipe before ordering.

Peet’s has dairy in the caramel and white chocolate, but all our other sauces are dairy free! Do note, though, that our regular thickening powder used for the javivas has dairy in it– but the “light”/sugar-free version doesn’t.

That's the good thing about it being online and stuff. I can pretend that it's a perfect world and nothing bad would happen if I encouraged forwardness like that. It's just a fantasy really, in real life, I'd be much more careful and reserved. I'm not quite so promiscuous offline, as fun as it would be. I imagine it's the same for those in question, that they probably wouldn't be so blunt about such things. The internet's anonymity lets people feel more comfortable acting a bit differently, at least I think so!

I have been mostly quiet, due to inactivity on GW2, and being in a tight spot financially atm, meaning I'm not able to get art and stuff as reliably!
