Life of an Aerialist

*Your pants get looser in the waist but tighter through the thighs.

*And you’re having the same problem with your tops through the shoulders.

*Everyone Facebook suggests you know is pictured up in the air on a pole, or silks, or at least the playground monkey bars.

*You have been at the gym in someone else’s pants. Or no pants.

*You know every instructor’s name…and they know yours.

*Going to the gym is for fun, not because you feel like you have to.

*Your gym selfies are usually upside down.

*You know 10 places at your work that you want to climb but would probably get fired.

*You’re getting pretty comfortable with public nudity.

*You buy more workout clothes than normal clothes.

*Looking for shapes in the clouds is for kids….you look for shapes in your bruises!

*And speaking of bruises, it took a while to convince your acquaintances that nobody beats you.

*Putting on deodorant takes twice as long now that you have to stop and admire your arm and shoulder muscles as you lift each arm.

*You often ache through all kinds of muscles you never knew you had.

*Your single male friends want to meet every Kairos girl in your Facebook feed but are too intimidated to show up at your gym and look weaker than them.

*You now look at your body more in terms of skills you want to master than areas you want to fix.
