WIP - Learning to hand paint textures!
I might actually get around to finishing this environment before university starts back up again. Just need to finish off a couple more assets and get to texturing and proper lighting. The banners and the rug should be fun to texture with different patterns. I kind of want to add in some sway to the hanging banners too.
Another mock-up environment test for my isometric RPG project. GIF version: Here
Although I’m sure porting Blenders ocean simulation to Unity is a terrible idea performance wise, it does look quite lovely.
Playing around in Unity to create a pixelated isometric RPG style. My aim is to create a look inspired by old school RPG games, while being able to do newer things like real time lighting, particles and physics. GIF version: Here
Been working on a RPG item generator system the past few days, was mostly a text interface that would just spit out random items with names matched up from a list of strings and ints. I found it fun to make though so now I’m working on creating it in a bit more of a visual sense, my aim is to create a working inventory/character screen that holds items/can be equipped and change the players stats based on the items that are randomly generated. It’s been fun learning GUI stuff!
Some late night asset texturing
Just some work stuff from today
some WIP on more (store room) assets
Some more progress shots from today
I feel like I’ve improved a lot since the last time I tried to paint textures!
Some progress shots from today
Playing around with animations that affect the sounds, here I'm increasing the max draw distance of the sound effect as the door opens and closes to give the effect of audio leaking out as the door opens, pretty difficult to make it sound realistic.
Working through baking to low poly, going well so far, need to clean up some seams but besides that, the poly count reduction is great!
Done, submitted, time to move onto the next assignment, got no time to stop at all in the next three weeks.
