On the power dynamics between Doms and Subs.
TL;DR: I think Subs are the ones in control.
In a healthy consensual Dom/Sub situation, few things are a given:
Boundaries.
Safeword.
Communication.
With these all in place, what control does the Dom actually have? It's all pseudo control. It's a control that serves the subs wants and needs. These wants and needs could very well be the absence of [something], be it a choice, free will, respect, attention, physical touch, etc. But it's all things the Sub actually wants.
The Dom feeds off giving (or rather not) the Sub these things. If you know your sub is turned on (by giving or denying them what they want/or not) that's when it feels good for Doms. Or myself at least.
So at the end of the day, who is really in control? Who is "allowing" whom to be in control? It's the helpless sub, 100% of the time.
If you find yourself in a different power dynamic, get the fuck out of that relationship because it's not healthy. Both of you
