about 0708 father-daughter dynamic

i like how similar their answers about amusement parks. in the sense that they weren't there as children because of their strict families. (well, amane's one is not just strict, but you get it)

so. domestic au. and kazui takes amane to amusement park for a first time. and this is fun is not only for her, but for him, who has hardly been to such places, either. kazui tries to pretend that he is here for the sake of amane, and not because he himself wanted to go, but he fails, lol

SUDDEN change in how i'm drawing an eyes. idk art style experiments.

in general, it was drawn with the idea that after the death of his family, Shidou would not care much about himself, or even harmed his health on purpose. no one will even tell him that he is overworking and stop him.

until one of his patients' parents(reminder, he's a pediatrician in this au), who, for some reason, cares, expresses concern about his health. wow. shocking. (this isn't their first meeting btw)

(but don't trust this eyes, haruka is a fan of national geographic documentary, yk, that type where eagles kidnap someones cubs, and amane is actually a fan of my little pony, she just don't let herself watch it)

and more about their siblinghood in this au.

i thik at first haruka would be mad both at his dad, for "replacing" him (which isn't true, he's just teen and probably have hpd. so yeah), AND at amane, for taking his dad attention and love(which is, again, isn't true and irrational). so for the first year of amane being here he hates her. but, as it happens with all siblings, he becomes attached to her and begins to love her, to some extent.

his relationship with kazui is also become better, since kazui does everything to show that he still love haruka the same.

yeah, three years after divorce, in this au kazui adopted amane(at the age of 10) because he still don't want to be alone and want a family, so if he can't find a romantic partner, he would adopt a child.

amane is still from the cult, but she was taken away from there by child protection services, so...

she still against medicine, and fist sketch its her visiting doctor for the first time in her life(after hours of convincing her to go, at least for a certificate for school sick leave). and the second sketch is just her, because ummm i dont like how i draw kazui here, so i just cropped him from the picture.

(and also yk...this aus where character a is a single parent and character b is a tutor/teacher? same but character b is a pediatrician ;) )

ok so.

first thing is the fact that i like the idea about kazui being haruka's adoptive father BUT i genuinely don't think he is perfect dad. he was raised by the policeman and had a strict upbringing. so i think that kazui at least a little bit have this...yk... toxic masculinity inside. but that doesn't mean i think he would be a BAD dad. he is really trying to be good. and trying to make haruka less sad and upset. and stop him from broking things for attention(and kill rodents for god's sake.)

and. in this au he adopted haruka(at the age of 8) while he was still married(or better to say that hinako adopted him). and i think that hinako is a good mom. and after divorce haruka stayed with her(because he is mamas boy). but he still only see kazui as his dad, because he visits haruka regularly, its still his son in the end of the day.
