I'm continuing to develop my Detroit AU
Honestly, in the Detroit AU, I picture Kazuhina as inseparable partners who constantly get stuck with those tricky, complicated cases. Given that they were investigators in the original story, I imagine this AU version of them would be like the lead duo in a buddy-cop sitcom—only darker and, in a way, more melancholic. As an android, Kazui experiences unease and friendly feelings toward his partner—a sort of attachment (something fully functional androids aren't supposed to feel); while Hinako, in turn, finds herself investigating the issue of deviants without quite knowing what to make of the synthetic partner who supports her better than most humans do.
