Women Are The Source!
I've appreciated learning about the inner workings of what I want to do in the future for these past few months. Having firsthand experience with social media marketing entails so much more than many people realize. Many lessons, problems, victories, and other aspects of running a non-profit organization were learned throughout one of my past internships. Women Who Rock, a platform that gives women musicians a platform to raise their voices in the matter for women's health. Having to be extremely active on social media has been something I've learned throughout my internship, among other things. After reviewing the advice, I'd like to offer the ones that have shown to be the ones I will never forget. I've learned the value of having a good team, conducting research, and believing in what you're doing.
It's critical to have a solid team behind you. I've continually focused on becoming a good leader in several aspects of my life, particularly during my school years. With this support, seeing the process and future of a business or organization through the eyes of individuals who work alongside you becomes a more gratifying aspect of the experience. I appreciate the process of nothing growing into something so large that the support becomes unmanageable, especially when it comes to something as vital as women's health, which Women Who Rock stands ten toes down for. Which leads me to my second item of advice: when it comes to marketing, research is crucial!
This isn't just about figuring out who your target audience is and how to appeal to them; it's also about doing research on the business you're in. What's missing? What can you or your company do to help? What makes your company more relatable to the general public? Women Who Rock has worked tirelessly to raise awareness about issues that are often disregarded in both the music and health industries. Throughout my internship, I developed a stronger emotional bond with the people I was learning about while working on projects such as conducting research on various health issues that women celebrities face or the rates at which women are underappreciated in the music industry. Yes, this internship gave me business skills, but it also taught me the value lesson of "You are important, therefore look after yourself." A lot of us women are tended to forget about this!
Last but not least, have faith in your company. I was aware of Women Who Rock before being offered the position of interning for them. But, as I continued to be a part of this incredible opportunity, Melinda, the founder and CEO, Brianne, the events and accounts manager, and the rest of their team's confidence and hard work has been incredibly motivating. This is a magnificence of what women can do, especially since it was fully founded, fronted, and produced by women. They considered that this issue deserved greater attention than it currently receives. It is never easy to garner support for all of their hard work. Regardless of the difficulties they experienced, they were confident in their ability to maintain this fantastic message that Women Rocks and always will for a variety of reasons. This internship has provided me with extremely valuable physical and mental advice for the rest of my life. Women Who Rock encompasses all women who are amazing, including YOU.
