This moment was about the dumbest Cosmo had ever felt. He felt the heat creep up his neck and he raised his hand, unconsciously, placing his palm over the warmth. He hadnāt seen Vic since the whatever that was at the gym, but he did feel a little fortunate that seeing her this time round, she looked different. Vicās face always did make him falter in whatever it was.Ā āYeah, they did, so I can uh, cross that off my bucket list,ā Cosmo laughed lightly.Ā āAnyways, you donāt seem very thrilled with your whole look. Whatās wrong, Vic? Iām pretty sure itāll wear off, probably.ā
āIām too tall,ā Vic started. Her grievances were quickly itemized, and easy to list. āAnd definitely too white. And I canāt even do a pull up now-- itās like being in a giant babyās body. But people still think Iām cute so thatās a plus.ā It felt good to end it on a positive note, atleast.Ā āYouāre a lil cutie-- you look so young, Cosmo.ā Unable to help herself, one hand reached across the table to nudge his chin to one side. She had yet to take in his new look in profile. Didnāt hate it. Then she pulled back, expression thoughtful.Ā āHowāve you been dealing? Must feel kinda Back to the Future-y since youāre about as muscular as you were in high school.ā

Considering the disaster that had recently fallen over Castor, Theo figured it would be best to seek out the other hunters in town. And seeing as everyone was too busy to answer their phones, the dark-haired cop found himself standing inside of the Bloodcare building. His eyes caught strangers as they passed by, it was next to impossible to place any face. God, was he the only one left the same? The real question now being, was this a blessing or a curse? āOh. Excuse me.ā His voice is deep as he calls out to a blonde exiting one of the staff only areas.Ā āSorry to bother, but Iām trying to find Victoria Hassan?ā Onyx hues give her a quick once over, the corner of his lips twitching upward into a smirk. Sheās a stunner, no doubting that. But something tells him sheās got a shit attitude. Itās just a gut feeling.
āMy full first name,ā Vic responded on reflex, turning on her heel at the familiar voice. Sheād been on her way to her car, keys in hand, when the other hunter had crept up on her. Which annoyed her greatly because she hadnāt even heard him.Ā āIs reserved for family, arresting officers, and guys whoāve Iāve slept with. Youāre exactly none of those, Theo.ā She stepped up to him, arms crossing and head tilting slightly as she took in his positively normal features. It was appreciated that she could make direct eye contact in this body, atleast. A positive to this hell week was being able to stare people down without even having to crane her neck. āYou look the same. Why? Thereās no way a boozehound like you would miss a fling at the Polis... Theo, you were invited to the Polis the other night, right?ā His old ass might not have been. How sad. But that was the overlap in victimology, sheād figured out pretty quickly.

Cosmoās eyes flew to the girlā His savior. He was about to thank her, but Tito offered him back his card with a suspicious look. Cosmo was perfectly fine with that. Hands raised defensively, he asked for a coke instead. That was safe, no ID needed. He gulped as Tito left him after placing the can in front of him.Ā āHey, uh,ā he smiled, a little nervously with his eyes on Tito, before offering the girl a real genuine smile.Ā āThanks. I was just uh, getting a drink. Do I, uh,ā he titled his head, inspecting her.Ā āDo I know you?ā She knew his name and said no one looked like themselves, so he supposed it could make sense. He still wasnāt quite sure though, honestly.Ā āAh, you could have some of my coke, if you want. I canāt actually get a real drink probably. Sorry about that. Iām totally over twenty-one though.ā
Cosmo talked and all his usual earnestness showed right on his face. It was funny to see what had followed him from one body to the next, from widened eyes to that inquisitive head tilt. But then he asked who Vic was, and she felt herself hesitate for a second. Sure, she could lie, heād never know. But sheād really acted like she knew him and had no desire to get caught in that web. āWe dated eight or ten years so Iām shocked you didnāt know me by intuition,ā she hinted, reaching now for her drink and stirring the contents with the thin straw that had been provided.Ā āBut donāt worry, Iām not, like, bitter that you didnāt recognize me or anything.ā Which mightāve implied she was pissed, Vic realized. The inflection that she usually used to indicate a joke was missing in this body, just quiet earnestness that read significantly less sarcastically than she was used to.Ā āThey just let you walk right in, huh?ā The supernatural goings-on of Castor were as scrambled as she was, apparently. Small comfort.

@victoriaxhassanā
Whatever Cosmo had at the Polis last night, he really wished he could have every night. Waking up in a new body was totally out of body, but he felt cool and supernaturalā Probably similar to how all his werewolf friends did. He didnāt think there was anything special about this new body (he tried and failed at doing magic, willing himself into a wolf, and his teeth didnāt seem any sharper), but he still felt good about it. In fact, he bet he could even get into the Underground without supervision being all supernaturally on his own now. Cosmo was absolutely delighted when he got in. There was only one problem when it came to actually buying his drink though. āI swear, thatās me!ā Cosmo pleaded, trying to reach for his license back.Ā āOh my god, donāt cut it up! I swear to God thatās me. Iām Cosmo! Cosmo Robbins! Twenty-nine! I didnāt steal it!ā
Vic had taken a lifetime to learn what worked best for her skintone, her body type, her damn hair texture. It was a perfect equilibrium she took pride in maintaining. But the universe had different plans, not to mention whoeverās hand that had slipped into whatever the fuck she ended up drinking at the Polis. What a lot of people had been drinking. Now she was tall and thin and very white-- Vic wouldnāt let herself fret too long with the blonde hair she suspected might crisp off in her fingertips. So here she was, in the Underground with a fair amount of new faces. Vic judged them to be split down the middle between disgruntled and disinterested. It wasnāt until she heard a familiar name that her attention was pulled from the weird witch that lived uptown and currently looked just like Westley from The Princess Bride. āTito, cāmon, be cool,ā she interrupted. This voice was much more subdued than Vicās usual, and she wouldāve thought the impact was lessened, but that didnāt seem to be the case. Tito handed the ID in question back, slowly.Ā āNo one looks like themselves. And you didnāt even card me.ā Though it was possible Cosmo looked younger than she did. She started to roll her eyes companionably, stopped. She looked too much like a marsupial to pull that off without looking a little insane.Ā āCosmo, whatāre you doing here?ā she asked, more worn-out than she meant to sound, anyway. Dammit.
samuel--wise:Ā
Sam rolled his eyes heavily at mention of the radio show. Yeah, in a way it was like Castorās own Welcome to Nightvaleāwith none of the humour, an obnoxious host, and way too much attention given by people in his friend group. He had listened once for a grand total of two minutes, and decided it wasnāt for himāit was sorta clever, maybe, just not something he got excited about.Ā āSheās something, dunno if Iād go with funny, but sureāā He wrinkled his nose in distaste.Ā āA dating service? Why on earth would I want to do anything remotely like thatā¦ā But then he sighed, seeing her eager grin, which he was totally defenseless against.Ā āWhatever. As long as I donāt have to take it seriously, and can sabotage every questionā¦ā And as long as it meant he got to hang out with Vic, and see her happy, really. It was worth it.
āSam I Am,ā Vic drawled, giving him a long-winded sigh before continuing.Ā āYou and I both know that neither of us have anything better to do.ā She was, in fact, drawing up the online application on her phone, humming quietly to herself as page loaded. Full Name: Samuel Wise, the rest could wait... Vic skipped down to the opinions.Ā āAre you hoping for something platonic or romantic, Sam?ā she teased, hopping up onto the counter between them as she read off the questions rapid-fire.Ā āIs there someone youād like to get paired with? High maintenance or low maintenance date? Does species matter to you?ā She waited for Samās less than sincere responses and was glad that he was sticking around, atleast.

Elizabeth liked to believe that in another life, maybe, just maybe, she and Vic could have been friends. Of course, she was well aware that most of the animosity between them was due to her. Not so much now, but when they were teens. Her unhealthy obsession with Cosmo would have made anyone upset. But as Elizabeth matured, she separated herself from that lovesick schoolgirl, got over her unrequitedĀ emotions for Cosmo and grew up. It seemed as though Vic could never really let that part of their lives go and perhaps if the roles were reversed, sheād feel the same. āHmm, that might be true.ā She smiles a little to herself.Ā āBut you hold your own and do what you have to for Castor. That means something, Vic.ā To be honest, their conversation was making the Alpha uncomfortable. She was much more used to them glaring and snipping at each other. Old habits died hard.Ā āIn my dreams, but thanks?ā For a moment, she couldnāt tell if the other was teasing or not. There was realistically no way in hell that sheād ever be able to afford it, but it was nice to wish.Ā āAh, Iām not sure I want to know what you heard.ā Laughing, she shook her head a little.Ā āBut I like that thought. At least if I talk them into getting it, Iāll be around it more than I would be if it was at home.ā
Vic hadnāt really expected compliments in return, and wasnāt sure what to do with them, so her shoulders lifted and she finally managed a wan smile. Her feelings on the former drama queen turned lounge-singing alpha wolf were barely ambivalent at this stage in their lives-- she wondered if Elizabeth was feeling sentimental or something. āI only heard good things. But if youāreĀ sure, you should draw up a proposal. Canāt hurt to ask.ā Vic had gotten a pretty sweet bonus from Bloodcare that way last year, since they were paying her male superiors quite a bit more than her anyway. It rankled but was pretty easily remedied.Ā āItāll get your mind off how lame everything is, orĀ a reason to find a job where theyāll buy you whatever you like.ā God, maybe a sugar daddy would be best? Thatād always fascinated Vic.
samuel--wise:Ā
She was cool about it, but Vic was cool about nearly everything, especially it seemed to Sam, anything he did. So it wasnāt quite as reassuring as it shouldāve been. But he still grinned at her question.Ā āI donāt, you know I donāt, in any sense of the wordā¦ā He leaned against the counter.Ā āEh, mostly check my phone for the time, I think⦠so yeah, put me down as old lady aunt? Or donāt,ā he said with a chuckle.Ā āThink I could live without that particular label. But whatever you find Iām sure Iāll like, you know Iām notā¦ā He was gonna say picky, but that was slightly a lie.Ā āYou know what I like, anyway. Nothing too⦠muchā¦ā That was vague, maybe, but sheād get it.
Her smile shifted from encouraging to downright amused.Ā āI know, I know. But one day you might. Spend a little more time with Cosmo than Noah, and some of it might rub off.āĀ Sam really wasnāt what anyone but Vic would consider cool-- soĀ prudentĀ and even a little prickly sometimes, he was basically already forty years old with a mortgage and chronic back pain. But she understood his parameters just fine. āToo Muchā was definitely a threshold she could cross with no regard for others whatsoever. Which set off the line of dominoes in her mind that connected Doing the Most with Samuel Wise: Comic Geek Extraordinaire.Ā āYou got it, babe,āshe informed him, whipping her phone out.Ā āIn not gift-related news, have you heard that The Phantom Times is offering aĀ dating service now? Lux is funny and weāre totally doing it.ā We being herself and Sam, obviously. What else did they have to occupy their time?

It had been a few months since Casper saw her sister in the flesh - the latest time being Christmas when she went back to San Francisco for a few days. But living away from the family did good to her, especially away from Cassandra and Charmaine. She was reminded of them constantly, but no one in Castor knowing them helped a lot. She chuckled a little at that,Ā āThanks, Vic, again.ā
Her dark eyes has just caught sight of the vampire when she felt the rap on her arm. Casper nodded discreetly in return, glancing off sideways a little to gauge their surroundings. Her eyes flit back to Vic and she motioned slightly with her head in the general direction of the couple as if to ask if they were to move now.Ā
Vic paused a second-- Castor was a mixed bag of intentions sometimes, and she had to gauge how aware the girl was that she was in the company of a vampire, whether or not the vamp in question was planning on draining the girl of blood... important distinctions to make before she ruined everyoneās night. She nodded finally, tucking the hand that had tapped Casās arm into the crook of her fellow hunterās arm.Ā āBetcha she doesnāt know heās a vamp,ā she offered in a low tone as they started after the couple.Ā āTen bucks. People really are that dumb around here sometimes, though I guess thatās better than everyone being paranoid all the time.ā
iām headed to uh, work. so my 15? ish replies are waiting for me but we all know iām a lazy girl so feel free to hit me up on discord!

Her reasoning sounded valid, he supposedāno reason her habits should completely change just because Cosmo wasnāt playing a major role in them any more⦠which made him sad, but it also wasnāt really his business.Ā āOf course, I mean, you can come by wheneverā¦ā he began, but stopped abruptly when she caught himāfrom before. Quickly he dropped his handsābut it was way past any time when that wouldāve worked.Ā āIāI didnāt say I wasāā He was pretty sure he hadnāt outright lied, just omitted. Which in most cases, he thought was just as bad a crimeābut not when he was the one doing it. And he just hadnāt wanted her to thinkāĀ āI do wear it! Like, all the timeā It just came off in the shower or something, I guessālike, I didnāt take it off or anything. Plus, I always like whatever new replacement you give me, soā¦ā Now he just felt guilty. Working at the Vault when she and Cosmo werenāt together, he felt extra aware of making sure Vic knew he was still her friend, not just Cosmoās. This looked pretty crappy, in light of the breakup, even if it was just a bracelet.
Emotional turmoil broke out over Samās face, morphing his cute little accent into a cute little stutter and Vic remembered why she didnāt have dogs: she really lacked the ability to stay mad at such a sad face. And really, for all she knew he hadnāt noticed it was missing until she asked in the doorway. āI told you Iām too cool to make it a big deal, babe. Just worried I might get you the exact same thing like an old lady aunt, instead of an upgrade.ā Maybe some kind of anti-tracking spell? But thatād bite her in the ass, no doubt.Ā āHow do you feel about watches, do you wear those? Dāyou flex, Sam?ā Honestly, just about any watch would look huge on him, she just had to get the right look... realizing she was about three steps ahead of the actual conversation, Vic stopped, smiled, and waited for Sam to catch up.

Elizabeth couldnāt control the dry laugh that escaped her, emerald hues rolling a little. Leave it to Vic to allow her temper to get the best of her, while Elizabeth was the werewolf. So much for wolves being the hotheaded ones.Ā āItās respect. Simple as that. Iām just saying that if something had been done to the witches, vampires, even you guys, that itās hard to believe you wouldnāt be upset.ā And that they wouldnāt try to retaliate. Lifting a hand, she quickly waved off the others shaky excuse for an apology.Ā āItās fine.ā No harm, no foul.Ā āNo, I completely get it. You guys barely have time to focus on yourselves let alone manage coming up with something as ignorant as this.ā Pausing, she gives the dark-haired beauty a stiff smile.Ā āIād also like to think youāre a bit more creative than that.ā Vic may certainly not be Elizabethās favorite person, but the girl wasnāt a fool. Intelligent and cunning in her own right.Ā āIf itās an outside job, itās everyoneās problem. Iād offer my assistance, but something tells me youād never really take it.ā Which was fine.Ā āBut if I found anything out, Iāll be sure to send word your way.ā
Vicās mouth twisted down as she chewed on the inside of her cheek. Some victories were small, and Elizabeth not diving headfirst into retaliation had to be seen as one.Ā āYeah okay. And thanks, I think,ā she sighed finally as the werewolf smiled at her. She quit worrying at her cheek, though she didnāt smile back. āOut of the two of us, one tends to have a bit more bite where protecting whatās hers is concerned,ā Vic offered, a little impressed that she managed to find a very polite turn of phrase for her past behavior so smoothly.Ā āIād appreciate it and uh, hope you get your piano.ā Which was extremely awkwardly phrased because she had absolutely no idea how to talk about the costs of things. Vic knew she had no understanding of it, knew that made her an asshole.Ā āOr trick Velvet into getting an upgrade, maybe. They really owe you if what I hear is true.āĀ
