Flawless Victor-y || Hugo + Victor
Victor startled off the log at the sound of Hugo’s pack hitting the ground, quickly followed by the man himself. Afterward he returned to his seat in the fallen tree with a hand softly pawing the front of his shirt rather like he was calming his heart. Victor’s mouth twitched into a nervous smile, “Yes, its Victor. Kind of hard to hunt when you can’t technically kill anything. The whole thou shall not kill thing… but I could pounce a mushroom.”
He gently tilted his head up to the tree Hugo came from, humming, “Not a bad hiding place. You worried about Jim getting caught up in this thing? Or just Not wanting to be found. Sorry, if it’s the second thing… I wanted to talk.”
He stood up again, brushing off his legs as he stepped forward towards the taller man. His smile faltering as he asked softly, “I’m trying very hard to be accusative but it’s quite difficult considering. Are you the one who attacked Molly?”
He smirked slightly upon seeing the man start at his approach, brushing his hands off on weathered cargo pants before letting them settle at his side, his right hand lingering close to the switchblade hooked to the inside of a pocket. “You can’t kill anything?” Hugo tilted his head, giving Victor an expression of distaste. “Why not? Sounds like a pretty sad existence to me…”
He narrowed his eyes at the mention of Jim. “He is caught up already, I think. I fear even if he doesn’t go down with me…he will do something rash if I am apprehended. And, well, I suppose I am found, though of my own volition. And we’re talking, so your goal is accomplished.”
This man was a great deal odder in person than he was in conversation online. So it was true what they said about some people having an online presence unlike their true manner. “Attacked?” Hugo looked hurt, it only momentarily, since that was about how long he could stand to feign indignity. “I did no such thing. We merely had a very…pointed conversation, and perhaps I got a bit sharper with her than she would have liked.”
He gave a soft chuckle at his own cheap puns as he slid the knife from his pocket and popped the blade with a crisp swish. “If you have any complaints about that, I’m sure we could have a little chat of our own. I haven’t terribly much to lose, you see…”
Hugo's knife being brought out was enough to give Victor a grimace on his face, but not of fear. The tea planer merely looked upset about the appearance of the weapon, speak up as it was flitted into the air, "Just because I can't kill doesn't mean I can't defend myself. Or go against someone who is acting clearly not in his right mind or best interest. Mr. Hugo, you are putting people in danger including yourself by doing these things."
Victor stepped back as his hand went up in defensive position as if he were worried about Hugo's next move, "Molly and Charlie did nothing to harm you. And if you felt they did, you might have only spoke up and I'm sure they would've corrected it. You're a pretty big guy to not tell a couple of very cute women if they're hurting your feelings."
The tea shop owner added softly, "I can totally understand if you're shy but hurting people doesn't solve anything, Mr. Hugo. Now you should probably make amends for what you've done or more people will just suffer."
