Every genius can specialize in one kind of work.Â
However, thereâs always more to be earned and done and learned if geniuses broaden the scopes of their knowledge!
Aino doesnât necessarily like leaving Nod-Krai. The absence of kuuvahki leaves her a little dizzy, and everywhere else has a weird feeling to it. Sheâs heard Natlan is hot and humid, which is a far cry from being cold and dry. Not that ⊠Nod-Krai is always dry, though. Sometimes it rains a lot and then the air gets stuffy. She wonders if itâs like that in Natlan.
Ahh, Natlan, Natlan. Ineffa told her all about it. Now, as a surprise, Aino is going over just to look at some inventions from blacksmiths and mechanics! She supposed it would be a great exercise to broaden her horizons, and it would help her social square- er, social circle! Why canât they be other shapes?...
âŠnope, nope, hers is definitely a social heart.Â
Broadening her social heart meant that she could maybe do what those adults in Nasha Town tell her about. Something about supply and demand? Lately, sheâs been having a hard time not creating, thereâs more robots day in and day out, and her excitement has led her to realize one thing: New inspiration is needed! With permission from her trusty robot family, she has set off from the port towards Natlan. Only because it was the nearest. Going north to mainland Snezhnaya meant more cold and winter wind, which she was not prepared for! Natlan is said to be someplace good to start.
Itâs where Ineffa is from she reminds herself as she tries not to get too sea-sick. The captain of the boat said it would take a while to get there⊠but itâs been sooo long. Aino has one of her robots, sure, but only one. She has no idea how theyâll (they, being, her robot.) react to the new environment. Itâs also partially so she may feel less lonely, and less scared, and have somewhere to take photosâŠ
â...Itâs just you and me! But thatâs okay. Weâll bring back lots for the others.â
Most people heading south to the land of war werenât batting an eye at Aino. They knew her. Did they know why she was here? Nope. They didnât bother her regardless. Which made it boring! Eventually after wandering the boat several times, Aino decided to just⊠take a nap. She was already holding her friend's hand, so she trusted itâd alert her if anyone tried to be smart and take itâŠ
When she woke up, it wasnât to noise. It wasnât quite to quiet either. Life buzzed around her, when she finally managed to crack open her eyes with a loud yawn.Â
â...what⊠time is itâŠ?â she croaked out to no one. She felt her bot still grasping her hand, but⊠they werenât moving. Perhaps⊠they wouldnât work without kuuvahki? Thatâs⊠sad. Aino pouts, but decides she will still keep them around just to keep company. She has heard of phlogiston in Natlan. Maybe she can optimize them to work on phlogiston for a while. Yes.Â
She isnât where she fell asleep, so Aino assumes someone may have moved her. Which is odd. Her brain is working overtime already as she hops off wherever she was sitting, dragging the oversized bot down with her to the ground. Musecatcher still seems functional, so she uses them to pick up the other. Why does musecatcher work but ⊠the other doesnât?Â
âHmph, youâre attached to me⊠are you using my vision as a second power source? Thatâs smart!â she giggled, looking around.Â
âThis isnât Natlan..?â
Natlan⊠wasnât supposed to be a tad less frigid than Nod-Krai and full of green and ⊠a giant? Is that a giant!?
...her stomach growls. Ah. Must be krumkake time, but it certainly does not seem like krumkake time.
