&&. announcing his royal highness, ( viggo leif glücksburg ), the ( 28 ) year old ( prince ) of ( denmark ). he is often confused with ( jack falahee ). some say that he is ( lazy & sardonic ), but he is actually ( modest & undemanding ).

first things first: viggo loves being the second child  — or rather, he loves not being the first child. there’s thore for that and viggo gladly gives the spotlight and the pressure of the title and the never-ending responsibilities to thore. 

it’s nice being the middle child ! he gets the best of both worlds and he gets occasionally forgotten but in a good way. thore is the star of the show and sten is the baby of the family. the attention just tends to slid off of viggo like a wet rag. it works for him because it means people are not looking at him and wondering why he hasn’t lifted a finger or moved a muscle in years. he loves being still.

viggo’s a little bit apathetic & it’s mixed with selfishness

he’s not selfish in that ’i want everything, everyone must do as i say’ kinda way, he just cares a lot about his own comfort and he just can’t be bothered with other people’s worries & just doesn’t care much about stuff that doesn’t directly affect him. he’s like an old man sometimes: he has to be informed about an activity at least good 3-5 hours before a happening, preferable 5 DAYS earlier, if there’s no warning it’s gonna be hard to get him to move his ass

and he’s very set in his ways. if he doesn’t get his cup of black coffee in the morning he’s gonna be grumpy the whole day. 

he’s a person who either does a thing properly or doesn’t do it at all, there’s no middle ground for him. it’s part of the problem, really. he likes committing when he sets out to do something and there’s no such thing as half-committing. full commitment takes energy !

avoiding work is why he seems ( and is ) kinda lazy, but if he just gets a grip, he’ll do a good job !

he’s p modest though. but oddly judgy. he’s not self-aware at all: he’ll look at the rich bitches around him and think ‘ oh this is ridiculous, do these people really not see their privilege ? ’ all while ignoring the fact that... he’s wearing a 400€ white T and spent the previous holiday in the alps skiing because “ i mean, the slopes are the best there ”

his judginess is not the kind that will lead to him thinking people are beneath him, he just thinks they are being silly 

viggo doesn’t really believe in that fake behaviour most royals engage in. if he likes someone, he seeks them out. if he doesn’t, he keeps his distance. he doesn’t like pretending to be friends with someone just because he should y'know??

and if he realizes that he doesn’t like someone anymore he’ll just tell the person that that’s it, sorry

studied in copenhagen, he got his master’s in danish & nordic languages, linguistics had always intrigued him so he went and got himself a useless degree. now he’s regretting it since people ( tekla ) are roping him into projects that would require a business degree.

“ i don’t get what’s everyone’s obsession with being pushy is. can’t they just chill for one fucking second. first it was ‘ when are you getting married ? ’ and now it’s about a baby and i know after we have the first one, they’ll be asking about a second one. there’s no rest. no peace. ” he groaned loudly. “ we’re waiting, we have no hurry. maybe once we get bored of having a fun life. ” he grinned at sten. “ nah, she just wants you to stop being a little shit. you don’t need a wife for that. ” he teasingly punched sten in the arm.

“ okay, i’m ready, i’m ready ! ” the words are little assurance to her planner until armani stands from the makeup chair. they are only twenty minutes behind schedule ! and the most important part of the day has come and gone. wouldn’t it be customary for her to be fashionably late to her own reception, regardless ? fingers reach to adjust ( read: lightly touch, she doesn’t dare to adjust ) the tiara that sits atop her head, the other hand plucking a dainty chain — the dainty chain — from the vanity. when her eyes fall to him, leaning upon the balustrade, a beam illuminates her features, as if they’d been separated for days and not the short hour her planner had spared for the dress change. the bracelet dangles between outstretched fingers — she’d allow no one else the privilege. “ help me ? ” they can be twenty-two minutes behind schedule.    * / @viggc​

he didn’t mind standing around in the safety of their room. he would not have his voice tomorrow if he had to continue chatting with everyone. the amount of times he had had to thank people was close to two hundred. he was done with people. “ you look beautiful. ” the sentence had been said to her a million times already but maybe his held more weight. he liked to think so at least. “ you haven’t grown bored of this one yet ? ”  he inquired as his clumsy fingers tried to get the clasp to work.

“ aren’t proposals supposed to be meaningful ? it’s symbolic... or something. ” it wasn’t a boring ‘ring in a champagne flute’ proposal. “ it was definitely the right way to do it: i can’t even describe the shock. in my humble opinion, regular proposals are ruined because they are so transparent. ”

her wrist offers the flimsiest of handshakes. it’s a small, small price to pay. “ mm— ” she hums.  the beer had long escaped her thoughts, she had more important considerations occupying her mind ! “ berry extract ? ” the foam is far too vibrant to not be artificial ! “ what was it ? ” she barely even remembers the taste. who adds mixers to beer ? but he’s been all too accommodating, the least she can do is play along ! so she takes another small sip, and her next clears the foam. she parts her lips to surrender, but when her eyes fall to the base of the cup, it’s a cacophonic mix of a gasp and squeal that escapes. her fingers clench around his, drawing him close. “ is it—? ”

" no, not that. " this game might backfire on him. but finally ! finally the timing felt right: there wasn't a big celebration stealing the moment from them nor was there a great tragedy overshadowing the joy. first it had been klara’s birth ( he had decided to wait a month ) but then there had been the italian’s shooting ( that had set off the mood for months ). then a swiss-scottish wedding... an earthquake... a french-hungarian engagement... a brutal bombing of brussels...  things had kept popping up and every plan he had made had had a terrible timing. it wasn’t his fault, was it ? “ it’s something... ” his grin spread when he saw the change in expression. his other hand reached to grab the cup from her. he had planned some of this: he knew that his fingers were long enough to take the ring from the bottom of the cup however he had not planned how he would slip the wet, sticky, and beery ring into her finger smoothly. he set the cup down on the kitchen counter before catching her lips into a deep kiss. one hand cupped the back of her head while the other answered her squeeze with one of his own. he could feel his heart leaping in his chest like it was his last day. it was his stupid smile that brought the kiss to a natural end and he lowered himself onto on knee. he fished the ring out of the cup wiped his hand and the ring on his trousers before taking her left hand into his. “ armani catherina van oranje-nassau will you marry me ? ”
