“why would you use fallout new vegas as escapism the mojave wasteland is fucked up” so is the real world but the real world doesn’t has glowing sodas
I joked about this in the tags of another post, but I don't think it's mentioned enough that the first two Fallout titles deliberately used stylized stop motion puppets to depict their characters!!
You may think "Oh maybe that was just easier at the time than making them realistic" but NO!! Tons of games used real life FMV footage in the exact same way Fallout used its stylized puppets!
It's also part of why the OG fallout models still look way better than any of the modern ones!
The original Fallout creators deliberately wanted all their mutants and ghouls to look like fucked up claymation dudes and the more the series strays from that the worse off it will be!

[fallout spice of life] it’s time for sharing my piece for @newvegasguidezine !!! I had so much fun doing these as this is one of a few times I’m doing full illustrations. Thanks for the mods at New Vegas Zine for organising such a wonderful project!!

FALLOUT | THE TRAP
i like that there are securitrons on the show and they look like actual physical puppets too which is awesome, but they also look really lifeless compared to how securitrons look in the game imo... in new vegas securitron arms are all bendy and spinny and expressive and talking to them feels like youre talking to a mechanical beings rather than just computers on wheels (which is what they feel like on the show). i guess thats understandable but also with the budget they had i'm sure they could've come up with something to make old victor feel like more than just a prop 💔
third episode looked more like a fan film than a serious big budget production. ceasars legion was in the spotlight but absolutely nothing about them felt powerful or intimidating enough to rival the ncr. both casting and costumes felt flimsy and more comical than anything. overall barely any tension in the story. even the near-death of a bunch of children was somehow executed in the most boring, unaffecting way possible. it was bad
