Felix listened to Viking, his chest cracking open as those words seemed to hit him full force. He could see the anger stacking up on every vertebrae of Viking, Felix retreating into himself a little more. “One letter,” Felix said, standing up and approaching Viking with no caution, baring himself like old times. A thing he hardly ever did, let alone when he felt so exposed. “You could have written me a single letter saying all of that, explaining it to me. I sat there for two years with nothing to go on. Not knowing if you were kissing someone who wasn’t me,” he ran a hand through his hair, tugging at the roots with frustration. “That was what it felt like, like you just left me. Like I didn’t mean anything to you,” Felix rubbed his knuckles across his lips, fighting back the tears that were stinging him. It felt like a weight was both leaving and falling on him at once. “I don’t want to throw it away, I thought you already had,” Felix mumbled, toe-to-toe with Viking now, “I thought you didn’t want me the way I want you. I want to get to know you again. Fuck, I want to fall in love with who you are now. I want you right now and every god damn moment after that.” A deep breath racked his body, his shoulders straightening before he grabbed a hold of Viking’s face and smashed their lips together. “I’m fucking scared- terrified. But I want you. I always have and that’s never going to change.”
Viking had to admit he was a bit surprised when Felix started to approach him. While he knew he wasn’t very scary when he was angry, few people tried to deal with him head on, rather let him calm down before trying to deal with him. He was going to respond, but he felt like he needed to hear all of what he had to say. As he got closer, he could feel his breath get heavier, feeling more nervous. When Felix smashed their lips together, he felt his breath pulled from him, trying to lean forward as he pulled away, kept in place by Felix’s hands. He stared at the other, surprised by his boldness. The boy racks his mind for something, anything to say. He wasn’t angry anymore--that left just as quickly as it had came--and he didn’t want to talk about how he was still upset, not after Felix pouring his heart out. Finally, Viking cracks a small smile, “Well, at least we’re on the same page. I want to know the current you too. I know one thing, though: You can be just as thickheaded as you used to be. I mean, seriously, like I could ever leave you behind, even if I wanted to,” he teases, chuckling a bit, glancing nervously up at his eyes.
