sometimes i remember that you can choose midorima's lucky item

this is just me musing to myself, but my perspective on midorima's ritualistic behavior changed when i framed it as religious practice. midorima's relationship to superstition isn't uncommon in major religious groups. i've seen superstitious catholics. even their beliefs have become an amalgamation of indigenous practice and canon law. with that line of thinking, midorima's habits, therefore, are just a combination of different philosophies and belief systems. all of which contribute to the essence of being able to do your best as humanly possible.

shintaro's pain tolerance

bringing this headcanon in from twitter but im a firm believer that shintaro definitely has a high pain tolerance, whether its the highest is neither here nor there but it still stands. i think a lot of people brush over the fact that the guy literally tanked getting hot searing food fresh off the grill getting flipped onto his SCALP and only gave kaz a smack for it, granted i know that scene was just a funny gag but i just think its fascinating; his unlucky day chapter in the replace plus manga also adds on to this idea I think, personally i also think it would be pretty in character for him to be good at handling pain
