“ I mean, it stopped you from attacking me. –Didn’t it? “ Besides, what was the point of conflict if it could easily be avoided? Only stupid people go out lookin’ for a battle.
“--Lass, we weren’t even really fighting. If this had been a real battle, no, I would not have stopped.”
Here’s to hoping that she wouldn’t attempt to do whatever it was she had been doing again-- Vilkas could only take so much ridiculousness.
@karismatickitty
“Aye, that’s very cute, but that really isn’t going to do much for you while in battle.”
And this is why he doesn’t put much faith in felines--
@caedxs
“It isn’t my place to decide your fate with the companions. But if it were up to me, I wouldn’t allow it.”
@canticleofmercy
Vilkas was not a small man by any means. Even in comparison to templars in full armor, Vilkas was large. Needless to say, he stood out quite a bit. With both the strength and the wits of two men combined, why would he particularly need to blend in? It wasn’t as though others were actively going to start fights with him or anything of that nature. So, doing as he usually did, the mercenary found himself leaning against a nearby wall, minding his own business, and watching templars as they came and went. What a prideful bunch-- So much so that it made him sick. Though, he thought it best to keep that information to himself. For the time being, at least.
starter call!
im not passive-aggressive. im just aggressive. i dont even know what passive means. that doesnt make me stupid. ill fucking kill you
“NICE digs, BROTHER,” Hancock gave the other man a nod of genuine approval. Though the digs lacked the obvious subtlety of cloth, there was a kind of classic TINGE to armor that he could deeply appreciate. It certainly made for intimidation, if that was something that needed to be done – though from where he stood, he wasn’t intimidated HIMSELF. Such was a hard task when he was intimidating enough by his lonesome.
“You a Raider?” – was the next question, and said with less genuine kindness; more outward disdain, barely bothered to be hidden. Leave it to HIM to sniff out potential… dissidents to Goodneighbor’s general welcoming vibes. And Hancock prided himself on his ability to do so. // @blakkrulfr liked for a starter!
Vilkas had always been a rather intimidating appearing individual; even without his black, battle torn armor, minigun, and makeshift ax. Standing at six foot three and having the expression of a man who practically lived for violence, there weren’t too many individuals who found themselves longing to mess with him. Now, he wasn’t a malicious man. Prefering to keep to himself and mind his own business, Vilkas wasn’t exactly the sort to go off and start trouble unless given a truly good reason to do so. Though, make no mistake, he would definitely put an end to things even if he wasn’t the one who started it all.
“No, I’m not.”
He retorted, gaze narrowing ever so slightly. He knew exactly who the other was. Who didn’t? If you took one step in Goodneighbor, it was extremely likely that Hancock would know about it. Aside from that fact, he was rather hard to miss given his-- Appearance. Though, it truly was not his place to make comments on the way others presented themselves. After all, did he not look nearly just as striking?
“I realize we’re told not to ask questions, though it seems that involving ourselves in politics isn’t…”
And what does he call it? They are traditional Nords operating within the gaze of a Jarl supporting the Imperials. Racial politics spill to their doorstep and even they cannot themselves be ignorant to such worldly plights. Thom is no outspoken man but he had been a Stormcloak once, had seen firsthand the cost of civil war. There is pride in the life of a companion, an honor to his forefathers, that doesn’t force his hands to lesser causes.
But at once he realizes this isn’t a conversation meant for Vilkas. Would he be reprimanded for talking back? Spurned for too freely sharing a meaningless opinion that didn’t put coin in his pockets or mead in his belly? Suddenly his face pulls in a grimace, a stern pleat knotting his brows in the middle. Don’t ask questions, don’t question.
“No murders. I’ll see it’s done. Will you accompany me as my superior or should I speak to Aela?”
Vilkas hardly cared for politics. Both sides were usually incredibly corrupt, lied just to save their asses when things got a little tough, and fought with other parties over the most ridiculous of things. In his mind, such things would never truly matter in the end. Aside from the legacy that one managed to leave behind, nothing truly mattered after you were dead and gone. For those who took up arms with the Empire and the Stormcloaks, they would never be remembered. Not individually, anyway. Honestly, the companion found it all to be pointless; never truly involving himself in any of it. Others might not have had a problem with such, but he did. And that was all that mattered.
Quite honestly, he should have sent Aela to accompany Thom, as that was what he usually happened to do, bur-- This time would be different. He longed to see first hand what the other’s work habits happened to be. He trusted Kodlak’s decision in regards to allowing Thom into the inner circle, but he still had his suspicions. Though, he supposed that it was high time that he actually got around to seeing what the newest member was truly all about.
“I will be the one accompanying you this time around. Aela has far better things to do, I’m sure.”
It was not the first time he’d experienced such a display. A man who consisted of rage, sheer force and power, that most would no doubt fear in battle. In the South, it was common to see. Less magic, more muscle, not that he had any place to complain in the slightest. Still, he’d keep his space, for a man with a two handed weapon was not something to take lightly. Especially a stranger, one who could easily take him down with an unexpected blow. So he’d stand a ways off, the ghost of a grin on his slips, as if sharing some private joke with himself. Though he’d choose to speak, it was with luck he would not offend. The last thing he needed was the blade pointed his way all on account of pointless chatter.
“If you continue like this, I’m almost certain there will be no target left to strike.”
Mages had always been somewhat of a mystery to the companion. Not that he personally had anything against them, as he believed that they could live their lives however the chose, but he simply didn’t know enough about them to form a solid opinion. There were mages that used their abilities to help the greater good, and then there were those who used it for malicious purposes. Possible allies and possible targets. That’s all they were. He cared not to look into their beings any further than that. So when the lycan could smell the magic practically coursing through the other’s veins, he hardly even reacted. Instead, hulking muscles continued to thrust his blade into the dummy; sweat now glistening his skin as a result of having been at it for nearly an hour. Though, when the stranger finally decided to speak up, the companion’s movements slowed just a bit so that he could glance over his shoulder and properly respond.
“And would you prefer that I use you instead?”
It was not an uncommon occurrence for those amply blessed by Hircine to find themselves restless as the blood moon approached, some more than other’s it seemed, and she takes note of his frustrations from a far. Footfalls are nearly silent ( despite the unlikeliness of catching one of her own unawares) as she approaches from the Skyforge, halting just shy of his steel’s reach.
❛– If your intent was to break it, consider your efforts successful, ❜ comes the nonchalant voice of the raven haired she-wolf, a half eaten apple in hand. ❛ There is little gained from a target that does not fight back, ❜ and even less to be learned. No matter how brutal his attacks. ❛ Spare Eorlund any further repairs and fight me instead. ❜
It was not a challenge, despite the manner in which her request is voiced ( yet she would not deny the competitive nature coursing her veins), more a healthier method of distraction. For one just as eager to hear the clashing of steel.
While the initial ‘ perks ‘ of what Hircine had blessed him with had proved to be most useful and enjoyable for a time, Vilkas found himself no longer longing to possess such abilities. As the blood moon drew more and more near, the carnal instinct to simply transform and run rampant across Skyrim, tearing into any prey that you could, was becoming almost maddening. It was painful to have to deal with. So, rather than simply put up with it as some of the other members of the inner circle had chosen to do, Vilkas was going to fight it. And practically destroying a sparring dummy was the perfect way to do so in his mind.
But, upon hearing the other’s demand, the alpha's actions came to a halt. She wanted to spar with him? Now? Of all times? Of course, that was fine by him, he wasn’t planning on going easy on her, but-- He was in such an angered state. The fact that she dared to risk it showed a great deal of bravery-- That, or stupidity.
“If that’s what you want, fine by me. But, you will break far easier than any dummy.”
Taking a rather defensive stance, his sword gripped out in front of his body diagonally, the companion’s eyes remained locked onto the other’s form; his stern expression never wavering.
“Strike me.”
Muscular arms brought his blade down diagonally against the dummy with such force that the man wielding the weapon nearly broke it. He wasn’t angry, persay, merely a bit frustrated. The urge to give in to his carnal habits had become much stronger as of late, so a means to take some of that pent up aggitation was necessary. Keeping his form in such a position that it appeared as though he were facing an actual man in battle, he hacked and slashed at the dummy; ultimately feeling a bit better with each swing. He could sens the other approaching, however– He could smell them coming before they had even gotten to Jorrvaskr. However, he did not feel interested, or threatened, enough to put a stop to his bit of sparring, so he merely pretended that they were not actually there and continued to strike at his opponent made of wood with everything that he had.
How tall is Vilkas in his werewolf form?
Given how large he is in his human form - standing at six foot three and made up of pure muscle, I can’t see Vilkas being small in his werewolf form. Though Farkas is still slightly larger than he is in both forms, the overal size of his from is incredibly impressive. Heightwise, I headcanon him standing at about seven feet, two inches when not hunched over. However, as most werewolves tend to lurch forward a great deal of the time when they’re standing, I’d put him at seven and a half feet tall.
May I touch your muscles
“I– What? No! No, in fact, you can’t.”
Vilkas, opinions on thieves?
“As long as they don’t steal from me, I couldn’t care any less about what sort of life they lead. Everybody has to make a living somehow.”
