Village of Bønes (Season 2)

After having gathered everybody at Neomi’s bakery, co-founders Falkin and Shadow proposed two options for the village’s fate: to start anew in lands afar, or to stay close to the roots we’ve sewn.

And so a vote was cast through stones…

Pixella the Timberborn

The village’s senior tailor recently paired her interest in loomed designs with that of interiors, trading delicate hands for rough callouses.

Socks the Druid

One of the most experienced in the ways of the world that the collective’s bigger discoveries seemingly come as no surprise to her. Though, there’s still plenty to do before everything’s fully revealed.

Druid (Can craft medicine, forager’s baskets and leaves)

Herbalist (+25% enhanced foraging, -20% animal detection range, 2x chance for mistletoes, +20% leaves from stinging nettles)

Fleetfooted (+10% movement speed)

Focused (+20% ranged damage, +30% ranged accuracy, +20% ranged distance)

Kind (-10% animal loot, -25% animal harvesting speed)

Clumsy miner (-10% ore drop rate)

Houses a rewired locust.

Shadow the Deepforger

The co-founder of the village together with Falkin, and the one who deals with administrative matters.

Traits

Smith Can craft and use repair kits to repair armor and a more efficient torch holder

Miner +40% chance to get double ore, +75% mining speed

Coke furnace master Can use washery grade coke to make coal supplies go further

Prospector Can craft copper pans and mining lanterns

Strong arms +15% melee damage

Glass blower Can cut various types of glass efficiently

Myopic -20% ranged damage, -30% ranged accuracy, -20% projectile velocity

Heavyhanded -10% loot from cracked vessels, -15% loot from foraging, -20% from crop harvesting

Trivia

Occasionally speaks in an eloquent manner - Perfectly understood by some and leaves confusion in others.

Finds excitement in the chaos of temporal storms.

Rajelle the Threadweaver

Said to have hailed from a prestigious town called Heartopia, Raj arrives as a new addition to the village by courtesy of co-founder Falkin.

Traits

Threadweaver Can extract flax fibres from common grass and craft comfy bedrolls

Sailwright Efficiently crafts sails

Clothier Can craft sewing kit and clothes

Careful cut +20% chance of double grass and higher chance for two nettle bundles

Mender +25% armor bundle durability

Precise +25% damage against mechanicals

Frail -2.5 HP, -25% ranged distance

Untrained +30% amor movement speed penalty

Falkin the Earthshaper

The co-founder of the village together with Shadow, and the one who takes care with its infrastructure.

Traits

Potter (Creates mortar, plaster, refractory and bricks at lower costs, and can create deeper bowls, bigger crocks and stew serving pots)

Mason (Efficient masonry)

Artisan (Chisels works of art)

Careful strike (+30% more rocks from mining)

Digger (+30% mining speed, +30% peat, +20% clay)

Sturdy (+10% melee damage, +5 HP)

Civil (-10% loot from foraging)

Hungry (+10% hunger rate)

Coconats the Wildrunner

Shifting between the excitement of discovery and living in stability back at the village, they ponder on starting a farmer’s life. But a hunter’s honor doesn’t leave unfinished business.

Ranger (+30% projectile velocity, +50% ranged damage, +100% ranged accuracy)

Furtive (-35% animal detection range)

Flenser (+20% loot from animals, +25% animal harvesting speed)

Dexterous (+15% movement speed and higher jump)

Bowyer (Can make crude but usable bow and arrows on the go)

Survival expert (Can keep self warm with a stone and heatcore(

Much to their dismay, they get struck by mysterious ailments at the most inconvenient times.

Shared a pet snail with Artina, who they built a house for.

Besides providing animal product and leatherwork services, they’ve assigned themselves as the builder and curator of the community museum.

Artina the Shadowstrider

The village alchemist seems to have found her calling farthest away from home. Stripped from her garbs, she now runs free in the wind, lest the fall finally breaks her bones.

Traits

Free as the wind (Higher jump and +25% movement speed)

Get in, get loot, get out (30% more loot from broken vessels, 30% chance to collect cracked vessels intact)

Highly efficient (-25% hunger rate)

Evasive (-50% animal detection range)

Weapon shy (-30% ranged damage, -20% melee damage)

Nudist (Heavy armor binds her to the earth whilst brittling to her touch)

Trivia

Over the excitement of being one with the winds, she burst her head through a door and consequently got it stuck in it. Not like that’s going to stop her anyway.

Shared a pet snail with Coconats.

Outside of alchemy, she also worked on the village’s pavement and maintained the garden grounds.

Sketchbook Snippets (1) - Village of the Bønes

Some casual sketches of me and my friends, a bit after our expedition to the Archives.

We have a community base that we refer to as the Village, and with the name of our world, I naturally started calling it Village of Bønes in my head.

Forgot to bring my mouse and playing with the trackpad isn’t exactly the easiest (at least on the laptop I have), so I wanted to quickly try hooking up my Wacom Intuos S.

Since the touch gestures on mine barely work, I had to put the mouse sensitivity all the way down to 1 so I didn’t endlessly spin when moving the pen by a few millimeters, though I can imagine bumping it up to 6 or slightly higher if I get more into it, and bind the right-click to one of the express keys as it oddly wasn’t working when binded to the pen. The rest I can still use on my keyboard with my other hand.

Quickly found that having the right-click this way made it so that I had to fully let go of the pen so that it could interact at all, making it a bit janky when I need to place, pick up something, use projectiles, or whatever else needs a right-click.

It’d be funny to set it up in a way where I could play with it better, but I think I’d like to go back to the trackpad for now.
