this came to me in a vision
Imagine if instead of commissioning a painting, Dorian Gray instead commissioned the shark suspended in a tank of formaldehyde from Damian Hirst, and people noticed that the shark became aged and decrepit as Dorian Gray became crueller over the years.
The girls are crying and the boys are masturbating
to whoever hosted that Halloween party : thank you so much. What would we do if the ultimate duo hadn’t met!
Morrissey in interviews is Lord Henry’s voice claim. Also in my head they are the same person.
i have two horses inside of me
random person: what if we discussed Basil’s role in the corruption of Dorian Gray via excessive flattery that makes him vain and —
me : shhhh shhh, no hes just a silly painter guy stop it
random person: but isn’t it an important part of his character analysis. Like the parallels between Basil and lord henry. They both corrupt Dorian but in opposite ways
me: no no no *covers ears* stop it. Basil is perfect in every way and no one can tell me otherwise.
I know that Mr Isaacs is a horribly stereotyped character and hes like the pinnacle of antisemitism, but for someone who is described as a “monster” and “grotesque” why is everything he does like.. good? After going bankrupt FIVE times, he successfully gets his theatre up and running because of his sheer passion for Shakespeare and when Sibyl’s family is struggling he gives them £50 to pay off their debts. As well as giving Sibyl and her mother steady jobs. To me he is just such a kind person and Im kind of mourning for the character we could have had in the book. I understand why the antisemitism in TPOD is a looked over topic, but I’m sad to see no one talking about Mr Isaacs. He deserved so much better. Classic bigotry, ruining aspects of good art.
Basil: “You know we artists have to show ourselves in society from time to time, just to remind the public that we are not savages”
I feel so seen. This is too accurate. T-T
Is this yuri? New ship i guess
What I take from this is Dorian does drag. Why am I not surprised?
Is it just me that really feels like this charming man by the smiths perfectly fits the relationship between Dorian Gray and Lord Henry. Why is it so perfect? I think it’s because of the parallel of Dorian being influenced by a charming man. Aaaaah
