Hello everyone, so we all know that stress is very common among college students, especially with all the studying and thinking about what we all want to be or do in the future. Exam time is especially stressful because we all go to college/university to determine what we are going to do for the future, as well as what we might want to do for the future. We go to college to figure out who we are, and with that we set stepping stones for our potential jobs. With all of this weighing heavily on our minds, it’s not surprising that sometimes the stress can get to us. There are plenty of news stories and talk about how many people commit suicide because of the overwhelming stress of school. Not just in Canada either – there are places all over the world that have a high suicide rate just because of the stress from studying and testing. Sometimes, students go to school for many personal reasons as well, such as their families. With that in mind at all times, some people find it difficult to reach out and talk about how stressed they are. In turn, students get more depressed, more anxious, and even more stressed out then they were. I think it’s important for everyone to feel that they can really reach out and talk about how stressed they are and prevent the constant anxiety, depression, and stress. Although we cannot completely eradicate the feeling of stress, anxiety, and depression; we can do something about it. The Friendship Bench is a non-profit organization that helps people like you and I. They are very welcoming and they are here to just reach out and let you know that with all the stress in the world – they care and they are willing to start with just a simple, “hello”. The Friendship Bench is willing to listen to you when the world feels like it is breaking apart and falling all around you. Even if it is just a simple hello, or if you really need to have a good cry, this organization doesn’t want anything from you. They just want to help. They want to help with the stress, they want to help with the sadness, and they want to be there for you in your time of crises. So please, before doing anything, take a minute to breathe, and contact The Friendship Bench.
I believe this is the best way to reach as much students as possible, this meme is short but simple. Memes can be easily shared among all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, tumblr, twitter), which your organization has already established. The most effective platform is to share this on Facebook, almost every student has a Facebook account in which they have their classmates/friends added.
