Blog Entry #1
Hi,
My name is Vincent Doan, and this is the beginning of what is to become a journey of vast culinary experience. From adolescence to now, I’ve always been influenced by food in some way. I loved everything that dealt with the culinary arts. Whether it be trying something new for the first time, watching intense cooking competitions on T.V or trying to make something myself. I absolutely loved it. So because of these great influences in my life, the only conclusion to what I wanted to do as a profession in the future was to become a chef. Being a chef can be described as intense, very commitment heavy, long hours and more along those lines. Though that description would usually sway most people from becoming a chef. To me, I take it as a challenge to push myself and to work as hard as I can to get what I want. As of now I am not currently working in the culinary industry however I plan on jumping into it as soon as possible. I am excited to be introduced into the hard working culinary industry and I will take all the experience with me to help me better myself. I personally don’t have a cooking philosophy as of yet, however I believe that cooking is to make those whom you love happy. By attending George Brown College I hope to gain the experience required to help me progress myself into the culinary world. I’m not sure what I’ll do after my program is over at George Brown. Maybe I attended for another year or so I could head straight into the cooking industry. Whatever it may be, I hope that the time I spend at George Brown will give me what I need to help me progress in the world of the culinary arts.
