it would have been very very sad had she stayed with san :(

first of all: she would have never told yeosang that she knew about san’s affair bc there would be no point, (she wouldn’t file for divorce). with that being said, yeosang would have never had a chance to proclaim his love to y/n, meaning, he would continue to silently pin after her with the knowledge of san’s adultury. i personally think that would make it much more painful for him bc he has the opportunity to blow things up for san and potentially steal away his first love but for the sake of not hurting y/n he keeps it to himself (although she knows).

second of all: y/n would only stay out of obligation for seongjae, she would want to give him that ‘complete family’ rather than leave san and fight for custody in court and have things get messy, she knows that san doesn’t love her the way she loves him him but he does feel something for her so that gives her a bit of hope that maybe one day in the future he can possibly learn to love her. but basically, she isn’t willing to do anything that can hurt her son in the long run.

oh also!!! towards the end, remember san tried to make an effort but y/n was getting freaky with yeosang in his office so she missed it, yeah that would have happened (but y/n would have been with mina discussing the pros and cons of staying with san) y/n would have been touched by the gesture and that’s what would kinda make her delusional and think that maybe there’s a chance that he could love her back one day.

as for areum, bc she relies on hongjoong for financial support and as a boost to her social standing, she would terminate the pregnancy as soon as possible and would go on about her life occasionally seeing san.

y/n would distance herself from the friend grouo bc she won’t ever be able to look past what they did and just stick to mina.

but yes, had she stayed with san, everyone would have been miserable :(
