So we're gonna jump around a Lil bit in here, but real quick let's give a hand for creationist Mymo!
No but actually i do think he is a fascinating and obsessive character and I appreciate his utilization to fill us in more about the lore of the world and current circumstances. And actually I might just make this a reblog chain to take it chunk by chunk as I see fit rather than trying to do it all in one shot.
We sort of have 3 facets going on here:
Power/ magic system explanation
Religious ideology
The loss/censorship of history and culture
And I think i have the screen caps to start in on two of the three... but the one I need more of is how anima and the vital instruments work which requires going back to early chapters (haha, oh nooo~ I have to reread? Oh? How terrible~โก)
Ok and maybe there is a secret 4th facet which is who Mymo is as a person because we do see is fanatical and obsessive as a character. His desire for knowledge and what is perceived as an injustice that so much information is just erased and non-available to the ground has turned into a full on obsession with omnicience, with control, and with power.
In the absence of the answers, he seeks to become the answer himself.
Knowledge is power, an absence of knowledge is a lack of power. And in a dangerous world it is very easy to feel weak and small in the face of the vast unknown. Like that's some cosmic horror shit. And how better to cope with the fear of some great entity than to become the thing you fear itself? (I mean, assuming there is a 'fear' component. I do think there may be an inferiority aspect to it. For certain there is a sort of obsessive anger too but that might be projecting from a time I was developing a character very fixated on uncovering the mystery of their own diety.
I mean our good buddy here quiet literally gives up his control, his most precious thing, in pursuit of this.
Because damn that is frustrating! To want to know something that feels unobtainable! To have those blockages, to learn that someone/something is systematically preventing you from knowing something, from knowing your own history. That has to be maddening.
(because it is. In real life, so many stories are erased and/or are censored much to the deserved anger of those who are forced to live with the consequences of having their past stolen from them and to those who dedicate their lives to trying to uncover and learn about it. That is a very real and common global experience)
Remember Arkha shows us the gaps in an earlier chapter after seeing Kuro (and he already seems to be clued in about the chokers listening in)
I have more of this section that I can add on later, but he does go on to question all those missing peices and divulges part of the Cleaners true purpose is to uncover them and figure out the "truth" of the world.
And its no wonder Rudo is shocked by the state of this book.
No wonder he's shocked by Mymo's frantic fanaticism
Because bro never missed a Bible study
So when Mymo says he wants to become a god, our boy of course....
So books up on the Sphere don't seem to be censored... or at the very least, Retgo had access to uncensored texts (if they were allowed/contraband of some kind is so far unknown.) Mind you the guards up there are also called "Apostles", the whole aesthetic up there is very clean and uniform, very controlled. Very there may not be a separation of church and state.
We are starting to step out of the experience of Rudo "Everything I knew about the ground was wrong and I know nothing. Help" and stepping into the zone of "Oh wait shit, that's right! The Spherite knows shit that we have no fuckin clue about."
Anyway, thanks for coming to the meandering rambling zone! I'm gonna put a pin it there and I'll come back to things as I actually key in and focus on specific things I wanna talk about (and you know, maybe actually organize thoughts on.)
I knew enjin's second jinki was probably the clock we saw in the previous chapters...but now that its official im still shocked.
Copious foreshadowing:
Me when he actually whips it out:
Enjin is a Very Good Boyโข
Never doubted you for a second, my king.
first thing i thought of when i saw the new ED
"My prince, your "pheromone maxxing" is making the people concerned for your health!"
"People have misunderstood me all my life... But the person I am now harbors no anger or resentment."
In re: Gachiakuta ch. 165
Not really spoilers just me being a freak
i liked the part where enjin said "its cleaning time" and cleaned all over the place
Yes please sir, all over the place โโ โฟโ โ
My headcanon: Riyo does Enjin's hair and nails. Meeting Rudo, her first order of business was to play with his hair. Her vital instrument is scissors, though she used to use guns before being recruited as a cleaner and promising Enjin she won't kill people anymore. I can't wait for her backstory reveal.
Enjin-coded nails embracing sloppy DIY aesthetic for my birthday because I am obsessed with his finger tattoos. I always forget that matte topcoat makes unevenness and imperfections stand out so much.
He looks so sad here I want to make his favorite cocktail for him, wrap him in a warm blanket, and cherish him but unfortunately I'm a creep and can't be trusted- rightfully so based on the downright predatory aura of my post history. I've dug my own grave here.
I interrupt our regularly-scheduled Enjin gooning to bring you
thoughts on Tamsy
This might contain spoilers?
Especially after the Suspicious Feet in the latest chapters of Gachiakuta (163 and 164) I've been hopping down rabbit holes and reading theories we have about Who's Actually Who and hints about plot and lore that have yet to be revealed.
This is one I've been sitting on for a while and I feel like we're glossing it:
pro-tip: your blog is about you. be self-indulgent, self-absorbed, and self-possessed. go all in on your obsessions. this is a work of self-expression, a living monument to your heart.
I love gachiakuta's refusal to draw enjin at anything even vaguely resembling a normal perspective

Enjin brainrot got me lazy-doodling at work. His finger tattoos have me in a serious chokehold.

THIS IS WHY THE MANGA IS THE EVER SO SLIGHTEST BIT BETTER THAN THE ANIME
:D :D :D :D
I hate when people call Enjin a fraud and be like "what does he even do?" Like guys leave him alone all he has to do is stand there and look sexy, give him a break. I'm literally licking the screen when I see him. He don't gotta do a damn thing.
I reject the notion that Enjin is a fraud because knowing where to be and knowing when to stand back is a component of strength.
He fights; we've seen him solo low-diff some trash beasts. We've seen him fight together. Community and the appreciation of inherent worth (in objects as well as people) are important themes in Gachiakuta. It's early in the plot to say for sure, and I'm still kind of like, "what's this guy's deal?" but it seems like Enjin puts a lot of work into building up his team and the people around him so they can accomplish things in which they can take pride. He sees their value as team members as well as individuals and he wants them grow and to be proud of themselves for what they accomplish. What Rudo does with discarded items, I think Enjin does with people.
Urana is cooking and we're all going to be like
