“We both know you won’t go with me, you’ll just whine in the car until I say it’s done.” Keith replied after a moment, leaning back on his seat before looking back at Violet. “I don’t even think that’s possible, but fine. I’ll go with you.”
Regardless of the fact that his words were probably true, Violet could hardly fight a frown as she heard them. “I don’t whine,” she protested, her fingertips tugging lightly at his belt loops as she let out an audible sigh. There was a part of her that felt almost vulnerable, wondering if she were doing something wrong, but she didn’t dwell on it. “I’ll go with you, I promise. A deal’s a deal, I swear.”
