okay i haven't seen anyone upload the xaden bonus chapters as actual docs, only pics of the physical book pages, so i got off my ass and did the work myself.

As a countdown to Onyx Stormās release date, Iāve decided to post my favorite quotes, one per day, in no particular order.
We always talk about Class Clown Ridoc, but what really makes him such a great character are moments like this one. He can be a dumbass, but he will always stand up for whatās right, and he cares deeply about his friends (more on that in a future quote).

Iāve never seen Ridoc lose his temper or use anything but humor to defuse a situation before. āWhatās your problem?ā Tynan shoves a strand of thick, dark hair from his eyes and pivots like heās going to stare some intimidation into Ridoc, but it doesnāt really work out, seeing as Ridoc is twice as wide and half a foot taller. āMy problem? You think because you made friends with Barlowe and Siefert that you have the right to be a dick to your own squadmate?ā Ridoc challenges.
Xaden: ugh I need to feel something, Liam can you tell me something that will piss me of
Liam: Aetos kissed Violet before you
Xaden: yup that'll do it
xaden's dramatic lying ass telling mira about sgaeyl breaking through his shields and pouring her emotions into him and then dragging him all the way to monserrat when it was actually the other way around entirely
and sgaeyl taking pity on him by giving him an excuse to go and then letting xaden lie on her name, cause she's nothing if not loyal to her dumbass son

the wound that bonus chapter gave my xaden/violet/liam throuple heart, cause why was xaden ready to throw hands over liam sitting next to violet š
even outside of a throuple vibe, i really wish the tone of that line had been more of a "he doesn't have to worry so much about her when I'm around" rather than "he can back the fuck up" like ???? sir that is literally of the people you love most in the world that you're talking about ??? where is the love ???
no really, cause at that point liam was only playing bodyguard AS A FAVOR TO XADEN. it's sweet though that liam was being such a good sport about it and understood the complexities of what xaden was going through
i also feel like xaden's emotional stuntedness in regards to liam in particular is also further highlighted later on in the chapter when he's watching vi and mira arguing and doesn't know how to handle it. "lewellen let liam and me beat the shit out of each other when we fought, but i'm not sure that's the right approach" šš
I think he's afraid to know what to do with it š„¹ Like I really feel like he's this almost caretaker personality for the people he cares about but in the constraints of well, war, that manifests in 'they need to be able to kick ass' but I would die to see some soft domestic Xaden š„¹ It won't happen in Empyrean, but I can dream š
after reading the latest bonus chapter, xaden and dain really are the true enemies to lovers story
I love this take imagine them ending up being besties by the end, or Rebecca really throwing us through a loop and the series ending with them as a throuple

love xaden being scandalized by ridoc putting his feet on the briefing table. the aristocrat still lives in him
I think this also comes from the fact that he is Ridoc's superior officer. Like the line in Iron Flame where Bodhi looks at the whole section with so much annoyance for celebrating that the all came. As Violet put it like he can't take us anywhere, which he can't.
