Not that I should have to say this, but anyone found in possession of BRK after the recall will be arrested on the spot, as it will now be categorized in its incomplete form as a Class I drug. Thank you.

I’ve been asked to give a few words to explain the sudden recall of what’s been more colloquially referred to as the “BRK” pills.
Frankly, I have no comments, as everything that needs to be explained was described in the memos that were sent out to all who had consented to taking the medication. I will repeat that again: everyone involved had consented to be a part of the trial test of this drug and were very aware of the risks that came with that involvement.
That being said, friends, families, and coworkers who have experienced any harm or discomfort based on the unsightly and unavoidable side effects BRK users have exhibited in the past may be qualifiable for possible compensation.
Please contact Battery Pharmaceuticals for questions, comments, and concerns that are not already being taken care of. Thank you.

… Please just think about it.
Fine. Though you haven’t impressed me yet, with... any of this. Not one bit.

artificialdesires:
It all comes down to profit, Malcolm. You won’t lose your place in the equation jut because we’re adding more variation. We’ll always need you and your work.
Just imagine… how susceptible and honest the mind will be when we open it up all the more. How much easier it will be to manipulate when you don’t have to worry about pesky sedatives and tranquilizers messing with your solutions. This could quicken the process entirely, Malcolm. Just… think about it, please. Think of our city. How much less you’ll have to worry about the smallest of details…

artificialdesires:
Did you think space travel was childish? Or exploring the ocean? People thought flying was impossible, once. And ludicrous. A waste. And how many people have flown since then, Malcolm? The first step to creating and establishing anything is to think it up first.
...
artificialdesires:
[smiles to herself] You were never hired for your imagination. That, I understand.
It’s... childish. Absolutely childish...
artificialdesires:
That’s disheartening to hear, Malcolm. I never thought you truly just wanted to rot in a lab for the rest of your life. Forgive me for wanting more for you.
I don’t want more than what I’ve already attained. There isn’t anything more. I refuse to entertain these delusions of grandeur you all have... This is as far as humanity will get. You need to understand that.
artificialdesires:
… That sounds like hurt feelings.
...
I can’t put weight on ideals. These fantasies you and the others have. This is not why I came to work here. There is nothing about what you have planned that interests me in the slightest. This was not supposed to be our goal.
artificialdesires:
Hmph. Well. ‘Wasting’ our budget is my job, Malcolm. I don’t tell you how to do yours.
No. You just attempt to invalidate it any chance you get.
artificialdesires:
Yes, yes, I’ve seen all the presentations, I understand the limitations to reeducation. That’s not what I’m asking for right now. You don’t have to take such offense to an experiment, Malcolm, we’re not replacing you.
[sniffs indignantly] You don’t need to coddle me. I’m not hurt by any of this. You don’t insult me by wasting our budget. It’s merely an irritant, that’s all.
artificialdesires:
Yes, it works. And, as I’ve explained many times before, we’re grateful for everything you and your research as given us, but we won’t achieve much if we keep… recycling the same few techniques, especially when said techniques have an expiration date…
Demanding permanence is ludicrous. The mind doesn’t work like that. If you want a human being that functions--..
artificialdesires:
Thank you for your input, Malcolm. It’s as charmingly necessary as ever.
Well, since you asked for my opinion: I’m tired of pouring money into every single ambitious project that sparks your interest. We should stick to what works. My way is what works.
This is a bad idea, just so you’re aware.
[Recorded Message: ] Hello. This is Malcolm Harris of Pharmaceuticals. I have important information for the head of the household and I’m quickly growing tired of calling. This is about a business proposition that we at Better Living would like to extend to Mr. and Mrs. Phoenix, and we will not take lightly to being ignored. Please call me at [xxx-xxxx] soon. Thank you.
