Nope. I knew better than to try the whole promposal thing, only to get myself embarrassed. I sold my prom ticket for $50 and then I used it to go see Civil War when it was in theaters.

I think a pretty big misconception is that children are afraid of goths. Because most of the time, parents are more scared of me than their kids.

Little girls in particular are not afraid of me at all. Sometimes little boys are scared, but it’s very rare for a little girl to be scared of me. Most of them are just really amused by my makeup and hair. They think I’m something like a disney character in real life. They’re really fascinated by me and it’s adorable!

story time!! in high school i was in the early childhood program where there was an actual daycare center in the school, so we worked 1 on 1 with children (aged 3-5) every single day. and for about 3 of those 4 years of high school i dressed pretty gothic, especially my senior year when i started wearing huge ass spiky demonias, red contacts, corpse paint, the whole shebang. most days i'd get dressed and think to myself "oh god i hope i don't look too scary for the kids, i don't wanna traumatize them" and consider changing into something more casual. the teachers would also remind me before they sent us into the daycare that i specifically should be extra friendly and smiley because of how i looked.

then id go into the daycare, and the kids would absolutely go ballistic at the sight of me. hopping on my big ass shoes and tugging on my chains, staring at my makeup and telling me i was SO COOL and looked like a cartoon character, are those your real eyes??!!?!? etc. there was no fear, no hesitation, they simply just knew somebody who looked unlike they'd ever seen before and wanted to cherish that difference. children see the world so beautifully!!!

ok so for those of you who don’t know, there’s this twitter account of a japanese local hero mascot named dentman who went viral recently due to this tweet

but yeah he saw the tweet. and his response went viral as well (which is how i found his account)

and he just has like. hourly posts reminding you to brush your teeth

oh and his rival? his name is mr. mutans. whenever dentman posts he makes a post of his own, ofc

but THAT’S NOT ALL. literally while making this post i found a THIRD ACCOUNT that’s all about taking your meds

safe to say i’m losing my mind

anyway the point of all this was that people are ALREADY beginning to draw them ship art 😭
