do you listen to lana del rey?

she was my everything when i was a kid and she’ll still forever be the person who turned music into something i passively listened to, into an emotional, visceral experience. she genuinely formed and shaped my worldview. i still live by the ride monologue and i still appreciate the comfort she brought to me but nowadays i simply can’t reconcile her political ideology with her music. it’s not even something i can separate anymore because for the longest time the music and the person were entwined.

Thoughts on porn as someone that writes smutty fanfiction? 🤔

i think there's a strong difference between fictional works and real life exploitation. porn is exploitative in the way it demonises women for the pleasure of men. men will call sex workers sluts, shame them for their job whilst also actively consuming and promoting the content they condemn. porn contibutes to sex trafficking rings, to rape and pedophilia - all the greatest evils in the world and i find very little redeemable about it. not to mention how damaging it can be for the brain. i understand that fiction can also be damaging but, most people that consume erotica, understands that fiction does not equate to real life. just because you write about certain topics does not mean that you accept them. porn is real life. words on paper only contribute to real life yet they are not a direct factor for people's behaviour. when you write about such topics, there should be a universal understanding you do not agree with them and you should not be held accountable for the people who twist intention to fit their own bad deeds.

woke up to this ask and it gave me a bit of motivation for the day, and a lot of motivation to come back and say hey. i'm really busy at the moment but i wanna come back to writing at some point in the summer. i think about joel and bambi a lot and i think about everyone who has been following their story. i want to keep writing for those who supported poacher's pride throughout and for myself. i've missed writing so very deeply and i want to continue the story that is dearest to my heart. thank you for checking in nonnie <33 i hope your day is going okay !!

it’s def not disappointing, i just wasn’t expecting it. i will say that i flinch a little whenever someone says they’re rlly into american culture bc of everything going on rn LOL

i understand that completely! me too! i don't take america at face value - i never have. it's been a fixation for me for multiple years and i've spent those years researching the history and learning the politics. i don't take this shit lightly. i will say, ever since the last general election i have become incredibly disillusioned with the country. my admiration for america came from its diversity, from the individualism of the states and the regions within the states. why the american people can't see that it's beauty lies in its differences, i don't know. to think that they believe the lies of a man who hasn't done anything objectively good for their country, i don't know either. the political state of america right now is terrifying and i try my best, even from overseas to advocate for those who have been unjustly punished under the current administration. and, to be honest, america hasn't just suddenly turned into the country it has, america has been filled with horror and misfortune from it's conception (at least the conception of the america they prefer to teach). nowadays, my fascination with america hasn't dwindled, but has transformed from genuine appreciation to an abject fury at what its become.
