MotherFUCKKERRR. If anyone tries to tell you Rey and Ben hate each other at the end of this movie, point to this scene. Yes, Rey is disappointed in Ben and is attempting to cut herself off from him until he changes. Ben meant it when he said he’d destroy her, but one look at her again through the resilient bond made him realize what he’d lost. That now, he’d lost her. He was alone again.

They have a shared vision of a future together. They’re both just naive to the fact that it will not end with both of them on one side, that they’ll have to find balance and compromise. This scene proves it. They still care about each other despite everything, and they WILL end this together.

I like that my head canon of Ben being very gentle and soft and kind with Rey is canon and it’s not this fanon vicious, malicious, hateful treatment. Sure, he has some element of poor etiquette with her humble background and when she rejects him he has a bit of a mental break. But the way he actually treats her is gently and lovingly.

Glad I got that one right bc it felt so important to me.
