The night was gloomy full of sadness and despair, full of regret of past mistakes. And most importantly the loss of life itself, the pouring rain and harsh thunder adding to the tragic beauty of the night. As families gathered closely for protection and comfort from the pounding rain, it only served as a reminder for you—the only family you had; the only comfort and protection you had from the cruel world was gone. Succumbing to sickness, the only person you so dearly loved being stolen from you in your most vulnerable moments of life. Thats how you ended up here in front of your dear mothers grave. Grieving the loss of her with no care for your drenched clothes or your shaky limbs as you kneeled in front of the carved stone. Crying with no fear of who or what could hear you or who could be lurking in the darkness watching you closely. "Miss what are you doing here during this storm—it's not safe shouldn't you be home?" a mysterious voice called out to you "Who are you?!—Where are you?!" you yelled out quickly wiping your tears, looking for where the voice came from. "I'm up here." the mysterious figure called out to you, causing you to look up revealing a man covered in layers of long black fabrics—sitting on a long branch of an oak tree a few feet in front of you. "Sorry to bother you, but you were kinda in the way of me completing my work" he said to you muttering the last bit as he jumped down from the tree walking toward you. "I apologize i didn't know there was closing hours—the gate was open and had no sign I'll leave now im sorry to bother." you said, in a rushed tone quickly fixing your dress and standing up prepared to leave.
"No need to apologize, i don't work with the grave yard." he chuckled "I was just curious what your doing out here so late—shouldn't you be at home with family?" he questioned you with a worried expression "I have no family—well living." you turned your head to face the man; grief evident on your face. The man moved to stand next to you looking down at the grave in front. "Im sorry to hear, who was she to you?" he asked reading the name on the stone. "My mother, she passed a few weeks ago." you replied in a shaky tone—fighting back tears as you looked at your mother's grave. "If you don't mind me asking, how did she pass?" he asked softly "The doctors had a choice to perform a surgery that would save her life or on the mayor for a less serious surgery, and they chose the mayor, he bribed them with a lot and i couldn't compete." you said turning to stare at the man—tears starting to fall down your face again. "I-Im sorry i shouldn't burden you with my problems, I'll leave now." you apologized to the man wiping your tears as you prepared to leave "Don't go, i actually enjoy your company." he said pulling the hood of his long cloak down to reveal a ethereal looking man, he looked almost unreal as if he was an angel. He was too beautiful to be walking this earth, you couldn't help but stare at him in complete awe. "I'm Yeosang." he chuckled lightly. "I'm y/n." you said looking down now blushing. "So what exactly are you doing here for work?—and why do you wear such creepy clothes and what were you doing on the tree?" you questioned, looking at him with a confused expression evident. "Well to answer your question...." he slowly turned his head toward you. "I'm the Grim Reaper." he said in a serious tone, looking at you blankly.
"Sure you are" you said sarcastically "If you were actually the grim reaper you would be a skeleton looking figure based on the pictures." you chuckled, voice full of confidence "And you wouldn't have revealed yourself." you added now pointing a finger at him, feeling clever. "You humans actually believe all that!" he bursted out laughing "We were all humans once too—ofcourse we have faces!" "Where do you get the whole skeleton thing from?" he continued laughing gripping his scythe. "You humans are so ridicules." he said, his laughs dying out as he looked towards you "So any questions?" he blurted out waiting for your response. "Well for one what do you mean by "we were all humans once" theres more of you?!" your eyes widened as your stared at him in disbelief. "Ofcourse theres more you think its just one dealing with millions of deaths on earth" Yeosang replied chuckling at your expression. "We were all once humans who lived horrible life's opting to just...end it all and in the process became stuck as grim reapers." He added on, voice full of sadness and regret. "If you don't mind me asking, what was your life like as a human?" you asked yeosang, wanting to learn more about him. "Well to start with as a toddler i was left on the doorstep of an orphanage, my parents were told i had a rare condition and they left me there so i wouldn't burden them any longer.....i remember crying all night till somebody finally heard me and brought me in." "And well as a teenager life didn't get any better i was relentlessly bullied by my peers for my strange appearance and condition." "So when no one was looking i went out to the lake and drowned myself..." he finished, tears falling down his face as he stared at you. "Im sorry for bringing such bad memories up for you." you said comforting him as he cried into your shoulder. "Let's take a seat." you softly told him, guiding you both to a nearby bench as the rain continued pouring drenching you both. "It will be alright i promise." you reassured him helping me settle into the bench. "Maybe one day we can meet again in better circumstances....." you said closely holding him to you. "Truth is i don't have much time left." you added on in a shaky voice, tears beginning to fill your eyes. "I only have a day left." you said now looking at him again "Will you stay with me till then." you asked, looking directly into his eyes "Ofcourse i will, lay down." he gave you a weak smile helping you reposition yourself; so your now laying you head on his lap as he played with your hair. "Thank you yeosang, for eveything." you slowly closed your eyes succumbing to darkness. "No thank you." he gave you a warm smile one last time; collecting your soul and completing his job. Walking into complete darkness as he carried you into the afterlife.

You had been running in the woods for what had felt like hours, in reality it's only been a few minutes. Not knowing what exactly who or what you're running from. You came to an abrupt stop heart pounding loudly against your chest as you caught your breath. The sound of a twig cracking not too far from where you were standing quickly pulled you out of a trance as you begin looking around anxiously. "Im going crazy aren't i, im sure it's just an animal." you assured yourself in a nervous tone. In the corner of your eye an undeniably human figure quickly glided around a tree.
"Who's there!" you shouted picking up the closest stick you could find swinging it around as you franticly spun. "Im not afraid to attack!" you said in between shaky breaths. "You sure, you do seem quite frightened." a male voice chuckled from right behind you, causing you to quickly turn around falling to the ground in the process. "What do you want from me!" you stuttered crawling backwards in a shaky motion, stick still in hand. "Relax, i mean no harm." the mysterious man said mischievously holding his hands up. "What are you doing out in the woods so late, shouldn't you be at home?" the man said "I-I-I could be asking you the same, p-please don't hurt me." you said in a weakened voice.
"Calm down, my names Jongho." the man said warmly holding a hand out to you. "im y/n." you said hesitantly grabbing his hand and lifting yourself off the ground. "So answer my question what are you doing out at this time?" "I was just on a quick stroll ... but i lost my way back." you shyly chuckled grabbing the side of your neck. "Do you not realize how dangerous that is, you could have been harmed at any moment!" Jongho scolded you with a serious expression. "I know but-" before you could finish he grabbed your arm startling you, he lifted the sleeve of your flowy night gown slightly to reveal a fresh wound "y/n your bleeding!" he exclaimed in worry, closely examining your wound. Your heart started racing at how close he was to you "It must have got there when i fell...its nothing really." you nervously chuckled pulling your arm back. "y/n it looks bad." he said worried pulling your arm back. "i can clean it for you i live nearby, it wont take too long i promise..." "Listen i barely know you i cant just go to a strangers home in the middle of the night" you said pulling your arm back for the second time, walking the opposite direction from him. "Wait please!" he franticly walked up to you "I promise i have no ill intentions-besides you don't know your way home." you halted remembering you truly didn't know your way back home "You can spend the night at my home and i can help you find your way back in the morning." you turned to look at him examining his face for any ounce of danger "Fine." you sighed in defeat
he warmly smiled at you "i live a few minutes away it wont take too long." he said guiding you on the path to his home "Thank you, Jongho i appreciate it." you smiled walking alongside him....
Little did you know that would be the last time you would ever see the human world. All of it was apart of his plan. It was all a trap to lure you to him all along...........the end
